1977 (1978 model year) Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado in excellent "time warp" condition. This Cadillac has had just one owner from new and only covered 14. 00 miles. It still has its original Braman Cadillac of Miami front dealer plate and window sticker. It was given to its first owner in Detroit. Michigan as a Christmas gift from his brother in law whom owned the Braman Cadillac dealership in Miami. Florida. He did not like the car so only used it several times to visit family in Florida. other than this it was always parked in his garage hence the extremely low mileage. Come 1995 the gentleman passed away and with his widowed wife not having a drivers license it just sat in the garage up until this year when I discovered it with only 10. 00 miles on the clock. I could not believe the remarkable condition of the car so I agreed to purchase it instantly.  
I carefully recommissioned it before driving it 2500 miles across the country from Detroit. Michigan to Los Angeles. California where my other cars were being stored before shipping. I had four new tyres fitted as the originals were perished. A full new exhaust system and catalyst. New brake pads all round. new brake fluid and master cylinder. Oil and filter change. New fuel and air filter. New water pump. copper radiator and heater matrix. New spark plugs and leads. Four new sealed beam headlamps. Two new hydraulic hoses for the hydraboost brakes. Plus probably a few more things that I have forgotten.
After about two days of completing most of this work I hit the road making it to the State of Oklahoma by bedtime. Then the following day I set off early and drove all the way to the New Mexico/Arizona State line stopping at a small motel for the night. Then on the third day I made it to Los Angeles. California with the Cadillac performing faultlessly the whole journey. Also to my surprise it returned an average of 15. 9 MPG (UK Gallons) cruising mostly between 70 and 80 MPH.
Once in Los Angeles I had it put in a 45 foot container along with another one of my cars and shipped to Felixstowe. Since it arrived in Felixstowe I have driven it another 1500 miles around the UK with no issues whatsoever and it still effortlessly achieves a very impressive 15-16 MPG. I had it MOT'd last week so now it is ready to be registered by its new owner. All customs fees have been paid and the Michigan title is present so there will be no problem whatsoever registering it. It can be currently driven on the US license plate as long as you have appropriate insurance. The RAC and AA provide insurance for this purpose. The original blue Michigan license plate reads "ELDO77" which is obviously very appropriate for a '77 build date Eldorado.
The overall condition of this Cadillac is remarkable. the pictures really don't do it justice as I am not a professional photographer by any means. The underside is as clean as the top. There is no rust or corrosion at all. it is as clean if not cleaner than many examples that I have had from Southern California. Whether viewing the underside or the exterior bodywork you would think you were looking at a 12 month old car not a 36 year old car. The chrome is also very good. It is also very unusual in that it was specified without a Landau Vinyl Padded Roof when ordered new and I don't believe i've ever seen another Eldorado of this generation without a Landau roof.
The interior is in beautiful original condition showing very minimal wear and age marks. The original Cadillac front and rear carpet mats are present along with the original front rubber mats. All four of the cigar lighters are unused and there is no signs that this Cadillac has ever been smoked in. Everything works correctly including the electric seats. windows. power locks. automatic headlamps. electric antenna and radio etc. The remote trunk release works faultlessly and the original Cadillac rubber trunk mat is present along with jack. spare wheel and jacking instructions. All original handbooks are in the glove compartment. The leather is still very soft and has no rips. just age related patina. The interior door panels which are often split on Cadillac's of this period are in very good condition with no splits at all. And most impressive is that the original clock still works perfectly keeping perfect time. I have never witnessed a Cadillac of this vintage with this dashboard design that has a functioning clock before I purchased this car.
Mechanically this Cadillac is excellent. It drives down the road very gracefully as it should. just how you would expect a low mileage Cadillac to feel. The engine is quiet and smooth along with the automatic transmission which shifts unnoticed. This Cadillac has been 100% reliable during the 4000 miles of long journeys that I covered in it due to all necessary preventive maintenance and repairs being carried out.
Overall I would say this is the best example of an Eldorado in Europe and probably among the best unrestored original examples available anywhere in the world. This is a beautiful original low mileage 1 owner car. The last new car that Elvis Presley ever bought was an Eldorado of this generation which is currently on display in a Las Vegas car museum. So if it's good enough for the King of Rock & Roll then it's good enough for anyone. And driving this beautiful Eldorado around the UK you almost feel like Elvis because it attracts more attention than a Lamborghini. Every time I take it out people are looking at it and taking photo's. Whenever I park anywhere in it people come and talk to me about it. It really is a celebrity of a car.
