VW Camper - Westfalia 2lt Berlin 1976 for sale
Current customer rating: (438 votes ) based onI know his value and also what he would be worth given a bit more love and time – I'm not interested in off loading him quickly. I'm more interested that he goes to a good home that will make sure he stays in great condition – and gets the attention I'm finding it hard to do. Prefer not to entertain tyre kickers but happy to show anyone genuine what he is like. He is left hand drive
Good Bits:
All original panels + doors. Remarkably Immaculate underneath. never welded – he is an original straight bus with brilliant structural original condition – a rare thing indeed. Really good gaps around doors - Very solid very honest structure – straight panels and a joy to drive. Everyone who see's him on a ramp is astonished at his condition – happy for any inspection.
Original Berlin interior including (to much to list all);
• Center box with fabric top
• Center cab table (rare)
• Main dinner table.
• Cab map light (detaches / fits into lighter)
• Original carpets throughout in good condition.
• Original Cloth interior (drivers / passenger seat professionally re-stuffed with original fabric)
• Full set of original curtains (including cab curtain – all now lined)
• 2 way larder fridge that gets cold
• sink and gas rings (no water tap in place have new one ready to fit)
• 4 ½ birth. 2 x double beds (one in roof one on rock n roll). one child bunk in front.
• Front seat rotates to lounge.
• Original detachable fly net for back door
• great condition original units
• Fly screens to slated windows • Heat exchangers work well (heating) - so you can have a toasty cab whilst driving or cool blown air.
Restoration (4 years ago)
• 2lt engine rebuilt (2 years ago. )
• 240v hook up
• New rubbers on all doors and windows all around bus (including slated windows)
• Always had it fully serviced and MOT'd no expense spared (most recently in August at www. vwjava. com )
• New roof canvas
• American Eagle 5 spoke Alloys
• New brakes and system
• New electrics
• Alarm (central locking to passenger/driver door)
• Insulated
• Lowered – sensible level (easily returned) – not to a point to cause damage
• Face off stereo + 4 speakers - charges Iphone etc
Bad point and reason why its cheap
Last year he wasn't dry stored and it effected the once perfect paint work – he has a few scabs which have appeared – no rot just a little bubbling – I kick myself for not dry storing him. The back window hatch was worst hit. All very much cosmetic but it needs pointing out before anyone comes to see him.
I am guessing he will go to a person who knows their vans and what they are looking for. I will be sad to see him go.
