A most usable classic car that is actually easy to maintain and easy to drive.

Rare chance to get the most desirable year 1989. the first year of the cross bolted engine ( extra strong for the extra power ) those of you who know will be aware that this is the year just before the complex active ride came in. but the model year of the harder shocks and stronger anti roll bars. coupled with the Bosch jetronic ultra reliable fuel injection ( earlier ones had carburettors and later ones have the Zytec unreliable system ) makes this the best handling car and most usable in the series.

This one is metalic black with magnolia hide. nbsp; and the Azure chrome wheels.

Note : Turbo with intercooler  ( previous models did not have this you can compare the intake pipe arrangments to see the difference )

This car is used regularly and enjoyed. pampered and loved. but sadly its time to pass her on to the next guardian. There were only 4500 of these made and after 24 years a lot less on the roads these days. This one has had a small fortune spent in the last few years getting her up to standard

new front shocks and ball joints

She drives fantastic. has amazing amounts of power and does not use any oil or water.

Dont be fooled by her age. this car corners like its on rails. precisely and without fuss. in a straight line it puts almost all other cars to shame. the turbo is always ready to pump and the power never stops coming. gear change is smooth and precise. brakes pull up sharply. steering is prscise.

Inside it is a nice place to be. leather everywhere including the head lining. mulliner wood door panels and picnic tables. there is also a secret hip flask holder under the wood panel in the back seat that holds two glasses and two flasks. sadly I dont have them but they could be found  probably on ebay.

There is also a champaigne fridge in the boot . this car has two batteries and a split charging system factory fitted. very unusual and usefull for those days at the races.

The air conditioning works correctly and is fully charged. electric seats work but the memory function does not as there is a battery needs replacing on the control unit. I never bothered as its not essential. electric mirrors all work in fact everything works .

The leather is in good condition for the year but not perfect. and you have to look after it properly which takes a lot of time and effort. The wood is generally good but the door capps will need relaquering. ( there is a place in kent turns them around for about £350 )

The body is sound. having been wax oiled from new. the doors boot and bonnet are alluminium . the body has some rust bubbles but nothing to worry about and really minor for the age. but she is presentable and always gets admiring glances . every time you fill up with petrol someone will want to talk about her :-)

There is a massive service hiostory. the true milage is about 138000. as there is a documented speedo change early on in the service book.

All original service books and manual including the leather case are present.

The audio system is not original. the original one died years ago. all speakers have been replaced with high power units.

Its hard to put a value on these cars. this one has had more spent on getting her up to standard than its worth. but they are worth preserving for the future. a unique bit of motoring history . the car that made Bentley worthy again. This car loves to be driven and I hope someone will enjoy her and care for her as much as I have.

The chome on the wheels is tired and peeling in places. these will need to be redone if you want perfection. they cost about 120 at Ashford chroming . worth doing as a new set is over 2K if you can find them.

Please be aware that the car is recorded as C on the insurance register which means the insurance company has agreed a total loss on the car and paid out the owner.

The car was vandalised in 2009. the passenger windows smashed and red paint thrown at the car. As insurance companies have to replace parts with new you can image how much it would have cost to replace the interior. so it was written off. The previous owner to me bought the car in this condition for £4500 cleaned almost all the paint off and reconollised the interior. you have to look hard to see traces of the damage. inside the centre console you can see some paint on the wires ( does not affect anything) and the carpets are stained as it was probably too soaked to be able to clean it all off. ( I do have a set of sheepskin floor carpets . the original full type that could be purchased for an extra £100. 00 if desired )

I must stress there was no and never has been any structual damage to the car. ll the panels are original and the only minor repairs have been little touch ups here and there over the years.

Having said that this is such a rare example once driven your forever smitten. ou cant help but enjoy driving this beast!

To sum up. the car is in good usable condition for its age. there has been a lot of money spent but it does need the wheels refurbishing. the door caps and I would put two new tyres on the front.
