This FJ 40 started life as a stock utility 4 x 4. They are great to see and look at. but are missing the needed horse power and more modern upgrades. i. e. transmission. suspension. steering. etc. to travel down the road at speed or navigate a difficult logging trail.

this project was started to create a useable Vintage Land Cruiser. but with all the modern upgrades to bring into today day & age. a true driver.

Using a late model 78' FJ 40 as the base. She was totally dis-assembled. body was removed and chassis sent out to be stripped. cleaned & power coated.

The original tub was replaced with the lighter. stronger aluminum Aqualu body (same as the TLC ICON) and will never rust! The fame was then re-assembled with new modern suspension & bushings. new Bilstein shocks & bushings. New powder coated black factory wagons wheels were mounted to 32” x 9. 5” x 16” Mud Terrain Tires. DRIVETRAN:

the old motor (135 hp)and manual transmission was replaced with a New GM 350 V 8 Crate motor (275 hp) and a new T 350 Automatic (with Lokar Shifter). The cooling system was upgraded as well with a 4-core aluminum radiator. The factory front discs' brakes were fully serviced and new power steering was added. INTERIOR: custom black leather sport seating. all new Painless wiring harness was installed. all new performance sport gauges in dash.

Extended Rear Custom gas tank.

Both Air Conditioning & Heat combo available for installation & any type of rear seating: Jump seats or Forward facing bench for children. just ask.

Today she can cruise down the highway at high speeds. Steers effortlessly (wife & teenagers can drive) and can go off the road with confidence to travel back roads. go overlanding and act as a livable base camp. In addition. she is setup to pull a trailer and has tail light wiring.

Set up with large open area in the back for the Dog/s or for storage. plus extra storage on the roof rack. Also on the rack is a CVT

Camping Roof Top Tent & Ladder (see photos).

Up Front is custom Heavy Duty Armor/Guard to protect the front & radiator from unwanted road hazards. The rear is a HD custom fabricated spare swing out carrier and multiple Jerry can. gear or cooler holder.
