This early Porsche is what I would call a survivor.

It has been owned by the same person for over 30-years until he recently passed away.

The car has been very well maintained and enjoyed over the years.

Much of the car is original.

Based on the way it looks and drives. it is clear that this early 911 was never abused or neglected.

The car has lived its whole life in Northern California.

It was sold new by Veale VW Porsche in Santa Rosa. CA and changed hands with local owners all the way through to the current owner.

Factory optional equipment includes:

Sportomatic transmission

Ventilated chrome wheels (available)

Radio with cassette player

Air pressure gauge

Bumperettes – front and rear

Tinted windshield. and rear window

Antenna

Loudspeaker

Pirelli tires

The current owner purchased the car about 4-years ago from the family when the owner passed away.

He immediately began going through the car to make sure everything was in good working order while preserving its originality.

The following services were performed:

New batteries

New ignition system

Cooler to oil tank hose

Repair clock

Replace heat exchangers

Replaced dashboard

New Bilstein shocks front and rear

New spring plate bushings

Replace distributor and cap

New valve covers (aluminum)

Major service including new plugs. belt. and filters

New brake pads all the way around and flush system

Replace shifter bushings

New heater hoses

About 27. 00 miles ago. the primary owner of the car decided to have the engine completely rebuilt.

This included new pistons. cylinders. bearings. etc.

Also. they installed chain tensioners and overhauled the carburetors.

The sportomatic transmission was also serviced with new seals and shaft bearing about 10. 00 miles ago.

During this mechanical restoration. new factory aluminum 911 S brakes and amber fog lamps were added.

Recently. TLGauto. com of North Hollywood removed the sportomatic. repaired the throw-out bearing. inspected the clutch. and the rest of the system. and reinstalled it.

Tony said it was one of the nicer drive “sporto's” he's driven in a while.

This long hood 911 is in great condition considering the age and originality.

I would definitely classify this car as a great survivor driver.

It has just the right amount of patina.

The hood. front bumper. front right fender. passenger door. roof. and most of the right rear fender are original paint.

The paint looks nice with the usual flaws to expect on a 40+ year-old car.

The car wears a set of period-correct factory 15 x 6 Fuchs.

The owner also has the original steel wheels with caps.

The car will be delivered with whichever set the new owner chooses.

If you want both sets. there will be an additional fee.

The tires are the correct 165/15 sizes and have near new tread but are older tires (no major signs of cracking).

The interior is equally as nice and very original.

The original carpet looks great. as do the older Co Co mats.

The seats are in decent condition with some small tears on the driver seat (see pic).

The padding on the driver seat is a bit worn as well.

The original headliner and visors look great.

As I always say. nothing quite drives like an original Porsche.

The car has great power and shifts smoothly and with great ease.

It is a lot of fun to shift the sporto through the gears.

The handling is tight and the aluminum S brakes are fantastic.

This would make a wonderful addition to any enthusiasts collection or a great early 911 for someone starting off.

California registration is paid through July 2014.

This Porsche comes with the original toolkit. original spare. owner's manuals. 35-years of receipts. most registration cards. Certificate of Authenticity. and extra keys.
