1972 VW T2 Campervan, 1 Owner in last 40 years, Original and Unmolested for sale

1972 Tax exempt VW T2 Early bay window. this is the rare low light crossover year. original Danbury conversion. RHD UK supplied and sold new by VW Cambridge to a Mr Edwards who owned the car right up until 2012. Due to ill health the camper was taken off the road in 2008 and put into dry storage. prior to that Mr Edwards had loved and cherished this camper and regularly toured the Uk and Ireland in it.
In 2012 the Camper received some light re commissioning work including new front and rear screen rubbers. new side window rubbers. new 12 part front door seal kits x2. new sliding door seal. new tailgate/engine cover/hinge seals. new wing mirrors. new ignition switch. new cab rubbers under seats. 4 new Bridgestone tyres. new brake pads. new CV boots and joints. new battery. new brakes. plugs. fuel filter and distributor. carb cleaned. new oil and service.
Prior to all of this at 90k the engine was fully rebuilt with unleaded head. new clutch and new flexi brake pipes all round.
The bodywork was treated to a freshen up and respray in its original colour of Pastel White over Niagara Blue. this was only due to age related marks and the 40 year old paint was starting to look a little flat. the main structure and body work is incredibly solid due to being regularly treated to Waxoil treatment from new and on a regular basis for the last 40 years.
The interior is original Danbury and has a working gas cooker and sink. it is also fitted with storage compartments. table with legs. sliding seats with rubber foot boards and all other components to make a double bed.
The van comes with its original hand books. a file full of bills and service receipts. 2 keys. a fresh years MOT and Tax.
The Van starts first time every time and it runs like a dream.
This is a very rare opportunity to own a very nice original camper that is highly original and unmolested.

ps I have decided not to put new curtains in the Van as most people would prefer to create there own look ! there are several sellers on ebay who sell entire 8 curtain packages for campers at a very reasonable £119. The tracks are all in place ready to have new curtains fitted.  For some unknown reason the V5 does not show the engine cc so I would suggest that you make your own mind up ! It is the original engine but im led to believe that it coul either be 1600 1700 or 2000cc. Im sure some of the keen " Dubbers" out there can enlighten me on this !Good luck and thanks for looking.
