Admit it: you've always secretly dreamed of owning a red Porsche 911. Who hasn't? If there's a more iconic sports car out there. I can't think of it. And it's the only exotic with both established performance credentials and rock-solid reliability. meaning you can drive it every day without worries. This is a car that never aged like a regular car. and looks just as impressive today as it did more than 40 years ago.

The Carrera is an iconic 2 door sports car that the competition has been chasing since it come on the market in 1964. The stunning Cherryrot paint job is recent. documented and with nary a flaw. It has been applied with the same attention to detail that a Porsche deserves. The finish is deep and lustrous. and the red paint is so brilliant that it's probably visible from space.

All of the bodywork is very straight. and it fits together in a way that only Porsche has mastered. as if the car was machnied from a solid chunk of steel. This car is commendably solid and composed over any surface. All the black pieces. which are usually brutalized by the sun. remain silky and rich today. The black leather seats have been professionally recovered with no sign of damage or notable wear. and they're quite supportive in a car with such athletic tendencies.

The gauges are laid out with the tachometer front and center. and everything works as it should. including the A/C. which uses R134a refrigerant. The original Blaupunkt stereo has been upgraded to a newer AM/FM/CD head unit and delivers enough punch to be heard over the screaming flat-six behind your back. From the looks of things. you just know someone has loved this car since it was new. 1987 was also the first year for the coveted G50 5 speed. and it's the one to own. Porsche engines were always an evolution and this one has all the factory tricks and upgrades that cured any issues in previous models.

This car runs beautifully and is fully sorted. It fires with a twist of the key (located to the left of the steering wheel. of course). and idles with that characteristic Porsche burble. At full song. it has a tenor wail that can be identified a quarter-mile away. Handling is superlative. and while all the rear-engined tendencies were not cured. this car is awfully civilized.

Braking is powerful. the ride is quite comfortable. and it has an updated look thanks to a set of 16-inch Harvey Weidman restored 16 inch Fuchs wheels wearing 225/40/1 front and 245/40/16 rear Goodyears. Every enthusiast should own a 911 at least once in his life. and why not a red coupe? Unbeatable reliability – that sums up the reason to stop reading and start bidding.

This is a clean Carfax car history report. well cared for coupe in an interesting color that needs nothing but to be driven and enjoyed.

Photo documented high quality. glass out. new seals respray in Factory L80F Cherryrot “Cherry Red” in May of 2008. This is not your garden variety Guards Red Coupe. This is not your typical hobbyist repaint. The quality of the prep on the bodywork is first rate and documented in the Photobucket listing. The doors are lazer straight with nary a ripple. No solvent pop. No shrinkage. No Sanding Scratches. This is as nice a respray as we have seen. You will not be disappointed.

The seats have been professionally recovered with a high quality leather kit. The leather is soft and supple. The recovering fits well with little evidence that they have been recovered.

The dash is crack free and the trim around the vents is not retracted or compromised in any way. A Kenwood AM/FM/CD player is professionally installed with Kenwood package shelf speakers in the factory sizes along with Infinity door speakers.

We have extensive maintenance records back to 2005 when our first customer purchased the car. We purchased the car from him and sold it to another customer. We were lucky enough to repurchase the car from the second customer's widow.
