For Sale: Fully Inspected and Sorted 1983 Porsche 911SC

This 1983 Porsche 911SC has been gone over COMPLETELY from tip to tail and EVERY small item that needed attention has been addressed so that it is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION both mechanically and cosmetically.  If you are looking for a 1978 -1989 Porsche 911. this car is mechanically 100% functional and cosmetically it draws a crowd and comments everywhere it goes. Even if you are thinking of a 964 or 993. the raw and exciting spirit of this car may sway you.   I have owned air cooled 911's of every generation (and three liquid cooled Porsches) and this one is by far the most enjoyable and visceral driver of them all.   So why sell it?  Because. it is too nice a car for my hard and high mileage Porsche usage.   My driver is a '96 993 with very high mileage which could use some repairs and I was thinking of selling it and using this one; but. frankly. this 911 SC is just too nice a car to do that to.   It is rare to find a "time capsule" car that is in such exceptional condition.   But unlike other examples out there. this car gives you the mechanical confidence to take a 1. 00 mile trip and the esthetics to be proud of at a Porsche meet.   I will outline all of the details of this car below so that you understand exactly what this car offers. has and doesn't have.

Mechanically:

The engine is VERY STRONG.   Instant and unfettered start up every time. With it's SSI stainless steel free flow exhaust and K&N filter combination the sound is absolute magic.  The throaty acceleration and gurgling and popping on deceleration is very intoxicating!! The additional 40hp from those modifications makes this 2. 00lbs car very. very quick and exhilerating.   The Bilstein suspension and 6" front and 8" rear Fuchs wheels provide amazing handling.   I have had all of the vital fluids changed (engine. transmission. diff) to create a new baseline for them.   I have receipts from 2005 and they show major repairs but not maintanance so I did the fluid changes.   The exact details of the mechanicals are as follows:

129. 00 miles on the car

Installed upgrades: carrera tensioners. pop-off valve in the airbox. SSI stainless steel twin outlet exhaust system  http://www. butzisquared. com/2013/09/ssi-heat-exchangers-are-back/   http://www. lufteknic. com/Merchant2/merchant. mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=ssi_Exhaust  K&N air filter. R134a A/C upgrade (the A/C in this car is ICE COLD!!!!  As in: it freezes your arms.   It also has a strong and quiet fan motor. ). Weltmesiter front strut tower brace.

Clutch and transmission age unknown so can only assume they are original.   Both are functioning very well with no clutch slippage and trans stays completely locked in 1st. 2nd and 3rd gear under red line deceleration test and in 4th and 5th under all aggressive and normal usage (cannot red line this car on the public roads in 4th and 5th!).

Engine compression was tested at 119. 00 miles due to what was found to be a blown piston in cylinder 1.  Compression in cylinders 2. 3. 4. 5 & 6 was >95% and the entire cylinder 1 and piston were replaced. Cost: $3. 00.

Tires: 80+% tread front and 100% rear.

Brakes: front: 100% pads. 70% rotors.   Rear: 50% pads. 70% rotors.

Upgraded H4 headlamps. They are VERY bright and with the driving lights on provide excellent light - better than some modern American made cars!

I have pictures of the rust free underbody and will upload them.

Cosmetics:

Paint is not original all the way around.   Paint meter shows repaint on the front bonnet. passenger side door and adjoining front section of rear passenger quarter panel.   The original paint areas are in VERY good condition with a deep shine. There is some slight cloudiness on the rear engine cover - likely beacuse this is not the original engine cover as the OEM Porsche tail on the car is from an '87-'89 Carrera (as it has the integrated thrid brake light from those years). There is an area with very small cracks on the mid driver's side front quarter panel due to paintless dent repair cracking the paint (done as it was likely pulling out a dent).   There is no evidence of a dent and the cracks are barely noticeable but I am all about disclosure.   The paint on cars of this era do not respond well to PDR.   I spent $600 on a full paint refurburation to remove the years of acid rain damage. bad soap. mositure locked dirt and swirls.   The overall look of this paintwork is AMAZING!! The front under bumper was also stripped and repainted to give the front metal spoiler area a fresh and crisp look.

The Fuchs wheels on this car are awesome. The rear 8" wheels fill out the wheel wells. make the rear end beefier/ more prominent and improve handling/ grip.   The front driver's side wheel has some staining in the polished aluminium that could be polished out - I forgot to ask my body shop to do that when it was in.

Interior is in excellent condition.   The black FULL LEATHER turbo "tombstone" seats are in virtually perfect condition.   Leather of this quality has been not been available in this millenium.   When you get in to the seats the leather creaks and squeeks like a very high quality arm chair.   This is NOT the plasticky leather of the era or the 996's.   More Bentley than Porsche!!  The drivers side left lower seat bolster (the one that doesn't exist on base 911 seats. ) was damaged from 31 years of drivers sliding across it to enter and the steering wheel lace was completely removed. so I took it to a custom upholsterer and had them both repaired to the highest quality and the seats redyed in the wear spots ($375).   They look and feel AMAZING!!  Of all of the Porsches I have had these seats are leagues above the others.

Car has original owner's manual. tool kit. plastic repair mat. fan belts. nbsp;all floor mats. under carpets. padding. seat belts. rear seat snaps (to hold rear seat up). very period front bra and mirror covers. cell phone booster atenna (that I love. but one could remove the antenna and the base alone on the rear window would be unnoticable). tinted rear windows and two keys.

Ads: sick. viseral driving experience with 100% functionality of all buttons. windows. clock. sunroof. wipers. lights. locks. whaterver.   This car sums up the 1978-1989 platform: fast. loud and fun.

Disads: stereo is not "era" stock radio (a huge pet peeve of mine) as someone put in a modern CD bluetooth unit.   I have never even turned it on.   No paperwork on clutch and trans so must assume it is original - but it feels strong.

I am listing this as an auction starting at $0. 01 with a reserve.   As ebay auto listings do not forbid seller - buyer contact please call me at 434-825-8899 if you have questions or want to discuss a "buy-it-now" price.   Do not call if you are a broker. reseller. etc. I will galdly work with international buyers and shippers.
