1970 AMX SURVIVOR LOADED ARIZONA CAR FACTORY A/C for sale
Current customer rating: (391 votes ) based onThis is a very rare survivor quality 1970 AMX. Values on these cars have increased rapidly in recent times. & auction companies will agree that these are one of the next big movers in American Muscle cars.
I will be happy to do a buy it now for serious buyers. I can be reached at (six two six) six five two-two nine two seven. 9AM to 9PM Pacific Standard Time.
This 1970 AMX is a very original car & came well optioned with factory matching #s 360 cubic inch 4V V8 engine. automatic transmission. power steering. power brakes. factory A/C. leather interior. tinted glass. dual color keyed outside mirrors. AM/FM stereo radio. & in dash clock. Odometer reads less than 22. 00 miles. & based on overall condition I believe car has a maximum of 122. 00.
This is perhaps the most solid & rust free AMX available for sale anywhere. Car has never had an accident. never ANY rust repair. & has all its original body panels. Car has been in the dry Arizona climate its whole life. & had been sitting in a garage since 1989 prior to my ownership. Upon close inspection I determined that a majority of the car is still wearing its original paint from 1970. beautiful Bittersweet Orange Metallic. I found no overspray anywhere on the car but it does appear paint has been blended in 2 areas likely due to fading. There does not appear to be any body filler in the entire car. but there are a few small bumps & bruises likely from sitting in the garage all those years. The Tan interior still has many original features such as dash pad. headliner. door panels. wood grain rim blow steering wheel. console. working factory tach. working original AM/FM stereo. & factory A/C. The dash area & bezels are in very nice original condition. The heater and & A/C both come on & blow but no cold air due to lack of Freon in the system. Prior owner did replace the leather seat upholstery with a cloth & vinyl pattern likely due to the intense heat of the Arizona sun. Legendary auto interiors sell an excellent reproduction of the original leather seats & vinyl door panels.
Car is running well and has a recent rebuild of the fuel system including the original carb. new water & fuel pump. flushed gas tank & more. AMX has plenty of power & shifts beautifully. The car still could use a new set of tires & the alignment checked to insure the best handling and safety.
Here are a few facts on the 1970 AMX:
The 1970 AMX was the last true AMX body and was arguably the best looking of the 3 years they were made (1968-1970). The new design ram air hood had an aggressive look. the front grill with integral parking lights was brought forward giving the car a more futuristic appearance. a functional vented front bumper was added to cool the brakes. and new side rocker moldings took on the look of side pipes. The 1970 AMX was 1 inch lower in overall height & 2 inches longer than the former year. AMX cars from 1971 on became a performance option to the Javelin & other AMC models rather than their own body style like the predecessors.
Total AMX production for 1970 was only 4. 16 cars. & of those only 747 cars came with the 360 Cubic inch (290 horse) 4V V8 & automatic transmission. Factory Air Conditioning accounted for only 25 % of total production. as A/C was the second most expensive option you could purchase at the time costing $380.
If you take in to account my AMXs original color. leather interior. engine trans combination. nbsp;+ factory A/C & other options. nbsp; production would likely be under 50 vehicles ever made!
