1983 Bentley Mulsanne Turbo for sale. Car has been sitting for a good few months. The car is running. but is showing signs of an air leak in the carburettor system. which is a known problem with these cars as the carburettor is known to warp. I had intended to replace the carburettor with a Holley. but just don't have the time due to several other projects. Prior to parking it up. the car had around $2500 spent on it at Neil McLean automotive in Perth to address leaks in the braking and suspension system. which were all fixed. The bodywork on the car is very good. but does have 1 very small rust bubble near the rear aerial. The car is still registered for another 4 months in Western Australia.
I took the time today to flush the fuel system and clean out a bit. The car started readily. there was no smoke on startup and oil pressure is good. It showed good charging voltage. it shifted into gear correctly and drove quite well. although still shows hesitance and flatspots due to the suspected air leak. The hydraulic system charged correctly with no leaks.
I would certainly be comfortable driving the car a short distance. but would still recommend a car carrier/ tilt tray for transport by the successful bidder.
