To commemorate the 50 th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra. Shelby American built a special set of 50 CSX 8000 rolling chassis. CSX 8975 is one of those 50. These cars sold out within weeks of their initial release. Since then they have been wildly popular on the open market. They are a rarity. a recently built car that has increased in value. This is your chance to own one today. This is what Shelby had to say when the introduced the car:The Shelby Cobra took the sports car world by storm when it was introduced in 1962.
Shelby American took the AC "Ace" chassis. inserted a small block Ford engine and re-engineered the car to handle the additional power.
On the track. the Cobra defeated sports cars from Jaguar. Chevrolet. Porsche. and others.
Fact is. CSX 2000 is the first Shelby Cobra ever built and quite possibly the most valuable American sports car in the world today.
We honor this icon with a 50 th Anniversary Limited Edition CSX 8000-series Cobra.
Only 50 vehicles will be produced.
Exclusive CSX serial numbers have been reserved. from 8950 though 8999. Each car had the option of a fiberglass or aluminum body. CSX 8975 is a fiberglass body. The rolling chassis was completed by the Cobra experts at Speedway Classic Cars in Las Vegas. It was built with a DB 331 X engine. It is an iron 302 block with aluminum Shelby heads.
