Well. I never thought I'd be selling this. and always imagined the kids burying me in her. have owned this RX7 for 13 years. In 2012 at 199. 50km after 32 years service. the original 12A mill rear chamber would take about 10 seconds to fire up. Upon inspection of the spark plugs. ethylene glycol droplets were observed. I decided to give the little darling a complete birthday. We mated up a cleanskin series 5 turbo mill in naturally aspirated form. being the highest C/R mill with the best reputation for longevity.
The donor engine is a near new unit from a super low mile ( 25. 00) JDM front cut. I have a new Mazdaspeed series 6 competition ''red plug'' engine here worth 10 grand and I kid you not. when we scoped the donor engine. it was as clean in the chamber/housing chrome as the competition engine. which has 10 hrs on it.
We mated up a rare 12A turbo timing chest with the 4 line oil injector system. all 4 lines are plumbed in ). fitted up a performance flowed 12a to 13b inlet manifold adaptor with the now refurbished Nikki 12a 4 bbl carby. ( best rotary carbies out there. don't care what the weber and holley boys reckon ). itted a new alloy radiator. fitted extractors. fitted an explosion proof ultra light weight 7kg flywheel. with new eccentric shaft seals front and rear. fitted up an OEM clutch. pressure plate and thrust bearing. then put her back into service . informing VICROADS of the engine number change.
Rego at the time was MOZZY-07. I have since retired. and recently put her on Historic rego and my son has recently sold me his series 3 . 12a turbo rx7.
The purchase of the series3. 12a turbo is the main reason why ''Mozzy'' is up for sale.
My son only allowed me to buy IT. because he had recently purchased an ozzy delivered silver series 6 rx7 ( in pictures).

It is with reluctance that I pass on my series 1 car. but I have very little garage room and also. have only driven her 4. 00 kms since the big birthday she had 18 months ago.
I also fitted new wheel bearings front and rear. new brake linings & pads. all new slave cylinders and master cylinders. and hoses to the alloy radiator.
I even had the air conditioning system serviced and retro fitted with R134A dryer and re-gas at that time.
Darker tint was also installed on the windows. just in case the r134a gas was not as cold as the good ol' gas.
The seats and hood lining are like new. The original carpets are in excellent condition too.
The dash mat is covering one crack in the dash board. The original sound system has never been played with too. I replaced every rubber weather seal. including the trunk. inner & outer door rubbers. buying N. O. S. complete set from Max Kirwin Mazda around the same time.
I had repainted her in about 2007. finding next to zero rust in the body. It still has the original springs and drives more like a grand daddy Capella than most RX7's on the road these days.
The original 5 speed gear box is noiseless. with only a slight whine from the diff at about 90 kph.
With the new engine fitted. it's first shake down run saw all the front windscreen chrome fly off into a nearby paddock around 230kph. something the little 12a could never do.
Whomever buys '' mozzy'' will have a robust . trouble free little machine that has been correctly warmed up and cooled down. and correctly serviced virtually all of its life.
It shouldn't miss a beat for another 30 years. You can return 8 litres per 100 kms or 12. depending on how you drive her. I get between 450 and 500 km out of a tank.
The full flow s/s exhaust system was custom built by my brother in law whom owns a popular inner Melbourne exhaust shop.
I have taken photos of the usual known rust areas rather than pretty pictures. The car has not been washed for about 1 month but it did rain last night. and she is having to do it hard outside now days :(
I have had the original wheels in unmarked condition sitting on a shelf in the garage for over a decade. They were removed and stored at the same time that I removed and stored the A1 condition rear parcel blind.
I also have a set of 7 inch solid billet alloy certerlines with 205 / 60 rubber with new centre caps. plus a set of 7 inch polished deep dish jelly bean mags. all of which can be purchased if required. as the series 3 turbo  purchased from my son has a different stud pattern.

vin SA220-625315 eng 537476. Interstate buyers. rest assured. that you could fly into Melbourne and drive this RX-7 home with confidence. It was serviced less than 200kms ago.
