Offered for sale is a really cool and rare 1950 Studebaker Champion convertible. As you can see from the pictures. this is an older restoration. and is very drive-able as is. Or. it would be a great candidate for restoration. This car fully restored should bring over $30. 00. I purchased the car about eighteen months ago and had to put it into storage as I needed my garage to manage the restoration on an older truck. The car is accessible for the next few months. and the storage is paid up through next summer. should you need to delay pickup.
The car was originally Highland Mist metallic (green) and should have tan vinyl (or leather) interior. The roof should also be tan canvas and the wheels should be tan. If you are not aware of the parts sources for this car. I'd be happy to help you with that. You can buy the entire interior and roof from Southeast Studebaker. Most of the parts I used were NOS. and I have several sources for other NOS parts. The body code for this car is 9G-S2 and it is the Regal Deluxe (this denotes that it had the high end trim). There were 9. 62 of these cars produced. and we suspect that fewer then 100 exist today. I have a copy of the build card for this car. and the final assembly was on 9-13-49. making it very early production (hence the painted headlight rims). The original equipment includes and over-drive transmission. hill holder. et air cleaner. and oil filter. There is a climatizer in the car which may have been added at the dealer.

When I got the car. I did a great deal of work to get it back on the road. including:Brakes - all new master and wheel cylinders. lines. springs and self adjusters; shoes are very goodElectrical - installed a new repo wiring harness; needs the over-drive and convertible top sub assembliesIgnition - all new ignition parts; plugs. wires. rotor. points. capDrive shaft - new drive shaft bearing and bushingsTurn signals - installed NOS turn signals  Horn - new horn parts including NOS plastic cap on horn ringAmmeter - NOS ammeter installedTires - five new wide-white tiresCooling - new hoses. belts. thermostat and fluidsFuel tank - restored and sealedCarburetor - professionally restored to like new conditionExhaust - complete exhaust systemTransmission - drained. cleaned and refilledHeat riser - rebuilt with NOS partsIn addition to this work. lots of small odds and ends were fixed. Regarding issues. the car needs new floor pans. that cost about $500 for both sides. Also. the engine is in need of a rebuild. Before putting it in storage. I drove this several days a week. Fun to drive and attracts lots of attention. The car has a clean PA title. and if the buyer is a PA resident. I can also transfer the antique plate to you.
If you have interest in this car. I suggest that you call me at 724-625-4440. By mid October. I will not have access to the storage facility. and the car will be locked up until spring.
