 This VW Thing is a true find with only 15. 00+ miles on it.   It has been stored in a private hangar for over 25 years.   Prior to being  placed in storage it was used to move single engine fixed wing light planes in and out of the Hangar at this private airfield. This vehicle has been repainted. has new upholstery and some small rust repaired.   It was not subjected to winter weather and no salted roads. The Thing Convertible is finished in the very popular Orange with a great black hard top.   This vehicle is very solid and is a car you can get in and begin enjoying immediately.   

Interior Highlights

The interior of this vehicle is in excellent condition as can be seen in the pictures.   The interior has New black vinyl bucket seats. they are in excellent shape and are very comfortable. The vehicle is equipped with front and rear seat seatbelts.   The rear bench seat is also black vinyl and excellent.   The Thing has an excellent Hard top that is in great condition. It also comes with the original Convertible top. which does need a new cover.   The entire interior is in great shape including the instrument panel. dash. and all interior hardware.   The dash includes the speedometer.   The interior floor is in excellent shape and painted black.   It is covered with Black carpets made for the Thing. Exterior Highlights

The exterior of the car is stunning with the top on or off.   The Thing is finished in a bright orange paint is new both outside and inside. The Thing has a Black strip on the bottom that really sets it off.   The removable black top on the vehicle can be taken off for a different look and feel completely.   The body on this vehicle is excellent. the body fit is about as good as it gets.   The doors on the Thing open and close with ease.   The exterior hardware is all in excellent shape and is fully functional.   The vehicle has new tires mounted on steel wheels with shiny moon VW hubcaps and trim rings.  The rear tail lights and front lights are excellent.  This Thing has awesome curb appeal and gets attention everywhere it goes.  

Mechanical Highlights

Mechanically this is a turn-key purchase.   The vehicle is equipped with it's air cooled 4 Cylinder engine.   The engine compartment is in great shape and is neat and clean.   The vehicle is fitted with it's original 4 speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly.   The engine has a new Carburetor. new fuel pump. new distributor – plus it has new wires. new plugs. new points. new cap. new rotor and condenser as well as new oil screen and oil.  It also has new rear shocks. The vehicle starts. runs. drives. and stops as it should.   The odometer on this thing reads 15. 43 the original owner claims this mileage is correct.   This vehicle has a clear Oklahoma Title and is listed on The Thing Registry.
