1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

This gorgeous show quality 1964 Karmann Ghia has been babied with one owner for 20+ years. It was fully restored 1998 and has been covered in a garage and only driven a few miles each year since then. 1. 00 miles since restoration.  
When restored. the floor pan (which is in perfect condition) was donated from a 1969 Ghia. It has a ball joint front end with disk brakes and 4 lug wheels and 2" drop spindles. It's sitting on brand new 155/60 R15 tires in the front and 165 R15s in the rear. Every piece of this car has been gone through and repaired/restored or replaced. As the pictures show. it was completely disassembled and restored. painted and reassembled.
It has all new rubber and seals. new brake lines. custom gauges from Classic Instruments. just to name a few things. It has a classic CD deck and a full sound system with two 10" Rockford Fosgate subwoofers behind the rear seat. The 1641cc engine was rebuilt at restoration and is detailed with chrome and matching painted parts. It has electronic ignition and a new vacuum advance distributor. (I also have a 009 distributor I can throw in. ) The exhaust is a 2 tip header exhaust and has a really nice sound. The interior is custom made with tan tweed and vinyl. and oatmeal loop carpet throughout.  The steering wheel is a rare Empi Petri wheel with a Carriage center cap which was an original factory option - I've seen these go for $1200+. This one has a crack near the top which could be repaired if desired.
I just put brand new tires on it about 6 months ago and also had the wheels powder coated. The white walls are inserts (and are actually glued on) but could be easily removed if desired.
Comes with a Rocky Mountain Motors custom car cover. I also have the original stainless steel window trim for the front and back windows that I can include in the purchase. You would just need new rubber and the clips.
Full disclosure:
So I wouldn't want you to get any surprises. so here is my list of items on the car that would be considered flaws. As with any classic car. there are always things to fix or improve!
Horn: The horn system is completely functional but currently disconnected because there is a short between the turn signal switch and the steering column that is causes the horn to go on at random times. The turn signals work fine. but the switch probably needs to be replaced.
Engine:It runs well and starts right up every time. even when it has not been driven for a while. However. it tends to be sluggish and bogs a little in 2nd gear when accelerating. This. I have told by my local VW mechanic is due to a common issue Empi Carburetors.  This carb is brand new. but should really be replaced with something else.
Body & Paint:There are 3 small chips in the paint. shown in the pictures. There is one TINY rust spot at the bottom of the driver's side rear wheel arch. This is literally the ONLY rust spot on the entire car. There are some cracks starting to appear in the body filler that was used inside the engine compartment - this was where a new piece of sheet metal was welded in during restoration. There are other extremely minor imperfections in the paint in a few spots. but most people will not even notice these. The paint is super deep and shiny and the body is super straight!
Bumpers:These are the original bumpers. There are scratches and dings in them. but no rust.
