About me:

I am a private collector that love classic cars. It is the feeling you get when

you are driving one of this great cars down in an open road somewhere that makes

me buy them and restore them to perfection or at least I am trying :). I bought

this car in 2011 and one of the things I like about this and all Bentleys is the

unmistakable characteristics that define luxury. distinctive design.

breathtaking power and performance. a refined and exhilarating driving

experience. Yet it is the combination of these characteristics that makes this

brand so unique.

More about the car:

My girlfriend is a extremely well-documented. she comes with all the documents

dating to 1952. She is all complete down to its original British License Plate

(ASO 400). tool set. including the hubcap wrench. jack. hand-cranks. flash light

and pump for inflating tires. All numbers are documented. and matching. She also comes with the original owner's manuals and the

first owner's information in Scotland. The car was imported to America in 1977

and the second owner held her in

captivity in South Carolina since 1977-2011. This car is register at the

Rolls-Royce

Owners' Club of America .

This Type R Bentley will surely provide its next owner wonderful afternoons at

any car show events or the pure

driving pleasure that has become synonymous with this famous elegant

car. Its mechanical condition is no less impressive. the car performs admirably

and doesn't have any overheating issues. My girlfriend can be driven to the west

coast without any mechanical issues but it will be a shame. she is too good

looking to do that :).

all body panels align nicely and correctly. Suicide-Style Doors. hood. and trunk

lid are all operating with ease. and windows are rolling up and down without any

problems. All glass is complete. clear. and without any cracks.

interior color combination. this Bentley is equipped with optional factory sunroof.

Chrome is all complete. Grill looks perfect without any dings or dents in it and it is

complimented with its MASCOT . Headlights are

ABOUT BENTLEY TYPE R HISTORY

After the World War II Rolls Royce

resumed car production with the Bentley Mark VI. which in 1952 evolved into the

R-Type. Departing from the custom coach bodies of the pre-war era. the first

post World War II cars were factory fitted with steel coach work. A limited

number of Mark VI. and R's were re-badged with Rolls-Royce grills and marketed

as Silver Dawns.

The R-Type was known as the big bore and

big boot sports saloon which was advertised as The Silent Sports Car To be

driven by its owner!! A 4. 6 Liter straight six-cylinder engine with four-speed

floor shift makes the car very responsive and fun to drive.

What makes this Bentley special is that

1953 was the last year that offered 4-speed manual

transmission which made this car nimble and less fun to

drive. as later cars were offered with less desirable automatic transmission.

My Bentley Type R is the most complete car you will ever find for sale online. Displaying the original radio. original Yale car keys. original sunroof. original flash light. original tools and original center hand rest piece. The radio was working

before I converted the car from 6 amp to 12 amp but everything else works. "ALL" the dash lights. speedometer. temp. engine pressure. clock. etc. It is quite amazing if we take

in consideration that the car is 63 years old.

The car has been upgraded from a generator to an alternator for a better driving

experience at night! I have kept the original generator and comes with the car.

The tires are new and they are Bridgestone asymmetrical radial tires. specific

to the period. are mounted on correctly sized Bentley Iron Wheels with brand new

Bentley Badges.

Wearing new Bridgestone Turanza with the "CORRECT" no White WALL/Line

tires.

The car has always been stored in my garage.

a showpiece all the way! The body is rust free. dent free. laser straight.

My Bentley Type R UNDERCARRIAGE

The drive in this car is just as wonderful as it's looks. The engine starts

effortlessly and comes to idle very quickly. the clutch feels perfect and she

shifts into gear flawlessly. Down the road she goes without a care in the world

as this is easily as much driving fun as you can have with your clothes on and

still be legal! The double overhead cam 4. 6 L engine purrs like a kitten and

pulls as strong as day one. The steering is hard. handling. and braking are all

excellent and the car literally inspires confidence when driving and she begs

for more.

The undercarriage is solid but needs a little bit of cleaning

No holes or rust perforations in the chassis

the undercarriage looks amazing. the majority of left hand driver cars

looks awful underneath but this one is the exception

all chassis is original. it has NOT been welded / ALL ORIGINAL

describe my "girlfriend" honestly and accurately. Transportation is free anywhere in

the continental USA only with a buy it now option. This amazing Bentley is a must of you are looking for a Type

R than can be shown as well as driven and examples like this are getting very

typing the work it is a receipt for everything type in. :) Many listing are

just saying it but they haven't done anything to the car bc they don't have any

service records of it to prove it! BE SMART BUYER AND DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU DON'T SEE.

This is a completed orginal "all together" 1952 Bentley Type R Saloon which can simply be purchased

and enjoyed. This is not the average Type R. I have spent money and time to

make it one of the best Type R for sale which makes for a perfect

high standard weekend driver. These cars are going up in value. This model was

the last year that Bentley Installed a manual transmission in it. Restoring these can be expensive

and difficult if you are not experienced so this one makes for great buying

considering everything has been done. This car has been appraised for $43. 00. 00

and is insured by Hagerty for this amount and also is listed in their price

guide value for more than this amount. Our reserve is very low compare to the real value of this

car. Good luck with bidding on it.

My Bentley Type R Chroming Process

All 47 pieces of chrome were removed from the car to be replated.

Lejos corporation in Concord North Carolina worked on the re-Chroming

These are all 47 chrome parts replaced from the car and rechrome

PAINT WORK SECTION

The Bentley look great from 10 ft away before we painted but this was a

close up picture of the car when we bought it!

Both quarter panels had been repaired. They welded instead of using bondo

sill plate area to the bare metal to see that the car was almost rust free

before we start the project

navy blue instead of grey
