Current customer rating:
Believed to be 1 of 6 created by Chris Lawrence. the designer responsible for the Deep Sanderson and the Monica. one found on The Sarthe Circuit of Le Mans. the other vying for the luxury sports car market. he also ran some successful racing Morgans. so he was an accomplished engineer.
The Mk VI Chassis was stripped and the cruciform central section was removed to allow the mechanicals to be lowered. In order to counter this. the side members are reformed in a stronger box section to retain stiffness and lighter cross members used where necessary. The engine and gearbox were moved back a full 2 feet and in this case a rebuilt 4. 5 litre unit was installed. It was also decided to centralise the gear change to aid ergonomics.
The chassis was sand blasted jenolited and painted in zinc chromate paint before being painted black. Suspension was lightened to take account of the all up weight of 28 cwt.
The low 4 seat touring coach work is made from aluminium on an ash frame and has a pre war standard Bentley bonnet. with the radiator moved back as far as the engine and lowered 5”.
Interior is finished in beige leather. with full hood. side screens and a tonneau cover. Recent £6. 17 service.
