The car has had rear panel work in the past but I can prove this to be an original Series 1. with original bill of sale and the usual S1 markings (serial number on the front suspension strut for example) and the owners/service manual wallet! MOTs as far back as 1985 with scattered receipts and bills detailing work on the car.
It is a daily for me. I travel 12 miles daily and my golf has not let me down. The engine revs sweetly. no crunches from the gearbox.
Last year the car was commissioned by TSR Performance and MOT'd (about 900 miles ago). TSR are well known VW experts. This included final electrics. engine service (with new fluids. filters and gearbox oil).
The car will be provided with 12 months MOT and 6 months road tax. I do not keep show queens. I keep dependable work horses and this is exactly that.
I am looking in the region of £7. 50 for the golf. or a p/x with circa £6. 00 ish my way. Pretty open to offers of p/x (anything interesting considered without rust…must have long mot) or straight sale – get in touch. Located in Woking. GU21.
For those that do not know. the Series 1 Golf is rather more limited than the 'normal' MK1 Golf only made between 1976 to early 1980. This Golf is an early 1980 model with all of the usual tell tale signs indicating a Series 1. howmanyleft. com indicate there are:
1976 - 1 sorn1977 - 0 sorn (its actually 1 as indicated by a mk1oc forum member)1978 - 1 sorn1979 - 7 licensed & 30 sorn1980 - 14 licensed & 31 sorn (this will include series 2 made in the 2nd half of 1980) . so not many left at all.
Payment by paypal or bank transfer. Winner to transfer £250 holding deposit within 24 hours of winning bid. Inspections & test drives welcome with proof of insurance cover.
