1972 Jaguar XKE Roadster

This is a 1972 Jaguar XKE for Sale

I'm helping the owner - George - sell his Jaguar. I'm more comfortable with computers and the Internet so I put it up for sale for him.

Here is what George told me about the car :

Notes about the Car

The previous owner received it as a graduation gift from Princeton.

It just hit 46. 00 original miles. I drive it 10-15 miles per week. I am selling it because I have lost the interest in it that I used to have.

I have grandkids now and am focusing my time on them.

I've replaced nearly everything on this car - from the seatbelts to the AC vents.

I do have all the original parts that were replaced in case someone wants to put it back to concours condition.

The engine was rebuilt 8 years ago. This involved them taking the engine out. stripping it down. rustproofing it. and repainting it.

The car itself was

repainted 12 years ago. The original color was red with black interior.

All 4 tires are brand new - only a month old.

The windshield is only 6 months old.

Mechanically it is absolutely perfect.

The mechanic who does all the work on it is a jaguar mechanic from England.

The front brakes were recently redone ($2800). This included upgraded cylinders. lines. and calipers.

It was a new water pump. all new exhaust. including parts that hold the exhaust unit.

It has the original starter. but a new starter was installed - which has more torque .

A custom speaker and stereo system was added. It is an AM/FM cassette.

The Vin # is UCIS 20884

The engine number is: 7 S 7361 SA

The body number is: 4 S 2208

The gear box number is: KL 3291

I have the owner's manual.

Issues: On occasion the driver's side door lock gets hung up and you have to open it from the inside. There is a very small snag on the top.

The car is located in Brookville. NY. which is about 30 miles outside of Manhattan.

Here is an update on the Jaguar from the owner:

1. Two weeks ago the dash was removed and all the bulbs were replaced.

I do this every few years. I happened to cross two bulbs - thus the ignition and low fuel
lights are inverted. You may want to leave that alone until you replace the bulbs next time
as it is a couple hour project.

2.

It has a 2 year old fuel tank.

3. The car is getting new hose clamps and belts this weekend - they are starting to tarnish.
