1979 Jeep CJ

1979 Jeep CJ7 Golden Eagle restoration.   I did not build this Jeep to sell.   This is not a short term build to refurb and sell.  The restoration took years to complete and included many NOS(NEW OLD STOCK) parts that took years to accumulate.  Every part I could locate NOS was utilized.   Parts I could not find NOS were refurbished.   Very few aftermarket parts used.  There is NO rust in this jeep and there was NO rust when the project was begun.   Jeep was acquired from the original purchasing family in California. It was disassembled and restored with no expense spared. The objective of this build was to complete a true restoration. You can still see the factory spot welds in the body which I tried to show in the photos.   There are a few upgrades but they were minor. subtle. and in the spirit of making it more reliable (examples stainless brake lines and polyurethane body bushings).

Some examples of NOS items used: Fender Flares (real AMC flares) and they have some very minor shelf wear. Eagle Decal and Letters are all NOS not reproduction.  ALL gauges are NOS with exception of tach which was reused. Black Anodized Rocker Moldings. etc. etc. etc.  

AMC radio is not functional.  It may work but it has not been tested nor is it wired up.  I had no intentions of ever using the OEM radio.  

Jeep is 1979 that came orignal with 4 speed (T-18) transmission. 304 Cubic Inch V8 and had later style roll bar that mounts in floor (vs one that sits up on the rear wheel well).  

Jeep body was painted in completely disassembled state and was painted on top and bottom of the floor. (see photos).

An example of extent of restoration: Frame completely disassembled. blasted. cleaned. inside was coated for protection. exterior of frame was painted with POR-15.

I am not a photographer.   I added as many photos as Ebay would allow.  I have additional photos and can provide more photos if needed. If you are interested in the Jeep I would suggest you inspect in person.  

Please feel free to ask questions.   The Jeep has not been taken to any shows. there are not any photos of it on the internet and it has hardly been driven. The miles showing on the NOS gauge cluster is from getting it to and from shop to finalize the project.

Complete professional engine rebuild (no expense spared).   It would be easier to determine what has not been completely restored than to attempt to list what has been done.
