ABOUT ME
My name is David Bluestein and I'm the owner of Foreign Motorcars. Inc. a BMW specialty dealership in Quincy. MA. I have grown up in the automobile business my whole life from when my dad used to import. buy and sell Ferrari. BMW and Mercedes vehicles. I have a passion for phenomenally engineered cars and enjoy taking one that someone else believes is “perfect” and making it a “David Bluestein Perfect” vehicle. The difference being most people think a “perfect” or “mint” vehicle is one that looks near new and runs well without any major deficiencies. A “David Bluestein Perfect” is one that not only looks as close to new as humanly possible on the interior. exterior. underside. engine compartment. etc. but also runs and drives as close to new as possible without any excuses. Everything needs to work exactly as it was designed to do or else it is not perfect. Most people call my attention to detail OCD or anal retentiveness (I prefer to call it pride!)since I spend more time and money replacing things on my cars than I do actually driving them. That's my passion.
WHY YOU SHOULD BUY THIS PATICULAR 328
You will probably be surprised at how reasonable my reserve is set on this 328 considering how much time and money I've put into it. Although I do own Foreign Motorcars. this 328 is my own personal vehicle. owned and registered to myself personally. Now that it's a “David Bluestein Perfect” car I have nothing else to replace or do to make it any better. I need another project to do! When I purchased this 328 it was described as a “perfect show car quality 328”. That may have been true for some people but not me. I wanted everything that could possibly be new to actually be new. All the hoses. seals. electrical components and sensors that I serviced / replaced were operating fine but it was really just a matter of time on a 25 year old vehicle before one of them needed to be replaced or serviced so rather than wait for it to break I went ahead and did it all. Now it's a perfect show car quality 328 inside. outside and underneath! You can buy one from someone else for less money that they think is perfect but ask them if all the fuel/cooling/vacuum hoses in the engine compartment have been replaced. Then ask them if all the electrical connectors have been cleaned and treated so you're sure that when you're driving down the road and hit a bump that the headlights don't pop up and down or the fan doesn't cut in and out. etc. Ask if all the gauges work and read accurately. Then of course you can ask the typical question of when the last belt service was done or when the last 30k major service was performed. I've owned several 308/328's over the years and they are absolutely awesome looking/driving cars. but they are also getting old and need freshening up both cosmetically and mechanically. Mileage on these cars is usually low so that's not the problem; it's the age that's starting to take effect. Do you really want to drive a 25+ year old car on its original rubber fuel/coolant/vacuum hoses? The stuff becomes brittle and weak. The electrical connectors weaken from corrosion. the sensors get dirty and don't work quite as well as they used too. etc. You end up chasing problems when you should be enjoying the car on a nice ride. You can certainly buy a car and do all this yourself if you've got any mechanical ability but it still takes an enormous amount of time and costs a small fortune in parts to do. If you're going to pay someone to do it. good luck! This car has had approximately $15. 00 worth of preventative maintenance over the past 12 months and it started out as a “perfect” car. It's now perfect… There's nothing left to do! Every 328 I've ever owned I have regretted selling once the warm weather re-approaches and end up searching for a year for another “perfect” one. I'm married with a daughter so it's not the most practical toy to own when you only have one day off a week to enjoy time with your family and need to choose between your wife and daughter to drive with. Being in the BMW business I don't typically like to drive my Ferrari to work. I would consider any unique trade (that seats 4) but keep in mind my love for perfection in cars. That being said. feel free to call or email me with any questions. My email is dbluestein@me. com and my cell phone is 617-828-8700. You can also contact Ryan Brooks at Ferrari of New England or John Terell at IFS. They both are very familiar with me and my car(s). Good Luck! This is the car you want to own!
