VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE 1500 1967 Rare VW

Offered for sale is a very original unmolested genuine family owned 1967 VW 1500 Beetle.

 Considered by many to be the ultimate Beetle combining the classic beetle look with the ‘powerful' 1493cc engine and disc brakes as standard. when launched in 1966 it was branded the ‘Hot Beetle' by VW.

This example has covered less than 44k miles from new and has been owned by my family since 1990. It has just been Mot'd with no advisories. This car needs only one thing – to be driven regularly and enjoyed. Sadly I no longer have the time to do so and therefore it is offered for reluctant sale.

 The car was registered on 06/10/67 (on an F plate) and purchased new by Annie Marie Millward. she owned the car from 1967 – 1983 when she passed away. The car was purchased in 1983 by Konrad Hunshild who owned it until giving up driving and selling it to Elfriede- Christel Matthews in 1985 who owned the car until 1990 when she sold it to my father Bill who owned it until he sadly away in 2008 when I became the fifth owner. I have copies of all the previous log books to verify this from the DVLA (including My Dad's old style v5).

We used to attend VW shows around the UK in the car when I was younger. so if you did too you may well know this car!

 The car still has the original engine (with correct H prefix to the engine number proving it is an original factory 1500). original gearbox and running gear. interior. floor mats is still on 6v electrics with correct sloping headlights and can come with the numerous much sought after period accessories at an extra cost which make the car extra special. (Including Bambus parcel shelf. period tax disc holder. Philips radio. period mirror sun visor. chrome bud vase. VW mud flaps. GB plate. Lucas reverse light. Radyot spotlights etc. )

The car comes in original Lotus white with the correct wing beading and savannah beige running boards. which were another period extra originally fitted to this car by the dealer.

The original dealer warranty sticker is still fitted on the front quarter window (see pics) and dealer name embossed on number plate.

The interior is the original black ‘basket weave' and in perfect condition (no rips or tears) headlining and interior light and door cards are also the originals and like new. as is the metal battery cover.

The car currently sports an original EMPI GT wood rim steering wheel and gear knob which is available at extra cost. the original wheel is also present as well as original radio blanking plate.

All chrome work including bumpers. wheel trims. beauty rings and rims are original and the original toolkit. jack and handbook is present. The car is waxoyled and requires no work at all.

The car comes with original key and is of course tax exempt.

This really is a rare opportunity to purchase a very sound original and rare VW. The sale will also include many spares which my father collected over the years. the car really was his pride and joy and I am not about to give it away. it has not been out in the rain or during winter for over 20 years! - it deserves to go to a new owner who will treat her with the dedication and love she deserves.
