I bought this camper just over a year ago in an untouched original state. Sadly it was in need of a lot of restoration work. My plan was to restore it and keep it for many years but house work forces sale.
Built to a very high standard by myself professional welder/ engineer. no expense spared as completing this was a long term project for myself. All parts used are top quality and over 500 hours of my labour went into restoring this van.
The van was fully striped of parts. all the major rust was in the lower 6 inches. All rust was cut out and replaced with top quality autocraft panels £3000+ in panels alone.
The underside is now like new. fully cleaned. shot blasted. etched primed. primed. stone chipped. and painted in mango green.
The lower body work was blended in to match the original paint.
All suspension arms etc where painted in satin black.
All brakes/pipes/ cables/ bushes/track rods/tie rods etc are all new.
New narrowed slamwerks adjustable beam
New slamwerks dropped spindles
Reconditioned 15'' steel wheels with new Bridgestone tyres front and back.
Straight axled rear.
New 4 Kyb gas dampers.
New window seals all round with original glass.
New hella headlights.
Tuned paruzzi 1775 engine with new case and core professionally built using top quality parts large valve magnum heads etc please look on www. paruzzi. com for full spec. Bare engine alone costing around £3000.
44 empi hpmx carburettor kit.
Black tin ware.
Bosch alternator kit.
Stainless steel side winder exhaust.
Mocal oil cooler.
Remote oil filter.
Electric facet fuel pump/ regulator.
As can be seen from the pictures this is a ratty van with the odd scrape and surface rust but is still original and has lots of patina remember it is 53 years old. Has some brown paint hand painted on which has been on for many of years which I have left as part of the character.
The body work is fairly straight overall with excellent front nose as far as I can see this van has never been in an accident.
I replaced the passenger side door due to rust.
The interior dash is in original condition with no cut out or holes etc.
The rear of the van is empty ready to be fitted out to your choice.
The van still needs little finishing off jobs but all the major work is done and on the road.
Bits require attention;
Front bench seat not original but useable.
Semaphores' not working but indicators fitted.
Door locks not working.
Needs oil pipes to connect oil cooler/ filter.
Door seals.
Some of these jobs may be completed by time of sale.
I have only done about 500 miles since rebuild. runs and drives very well. All parts are as new. well over £12. 00 spent in parts over the last year with receipts and many of hours labour.
Never been to any vw shows so unseen in the vw scene.
Original engine. gearbox. reduction boxes. front beam all comes with the van but in a bad state from sitting for many of years.
Would be interested in reducing the price if didn't want the 1775 complete engine.

Hello,
This is probably a daft question, but is your splitting still for sale? It still popped up as being for sale when I did a search. Many thanks, claire
