This is a 1966 VW Walk Through Split Window Bus.  The body has 59. 92 actual miles on it. The title states actual millage.   Clear Ohio title in hand. Title matches the vin. No funny business here.
I have owned it since 2009 but it has been in my family since new. It spent most of its life in Missouri. Since I have owned it I have put 13. 49 miles on it.
It's the original paint. There is no bondo in it at all. I'm not saying it doesn't need any but what you see is what you get. There's nothing hidden under a gallon of body filler with creative body work.
The inner and outer rockers have been replaced as well as the two front jack supports. The cargo door bottoms have also been replaced. All Wolfsburg West stuff.  The floors have been patched in spots. There is one passenger rear support that needs replaced. its the very rear floor support. It's not the main support or the jacking point. The last 4 inches or so are gone. When the inner rocker was replaced it needed replaced but we didn't have the part. It's something that can be added without much fuss.  But it is over all very solid. The front nose has about a 1 inch hole at the very bottom. The upper part by the drip rail is solid.  The windshield frame is solid. There are some smaller holes around the rear lower corners.  There are dents and it had pad locks on every door at one time. so screw holes there and it's had a few different mirrors on it over time. So screw holes there. Please see pictures.
I haven't washed or clean this poor bus in years. I'm sure with elbow grease and some polish it could shine again.
This is a 12 volt electrical system bus factory. It currently has an alternator on it. It is charging.  The two speed wipers work perfectly. The hand pump windshield washers work. It could use new wiper blades. The factory AM radio works great. Turn signals work. Brake lights work. Front dome light works. middle one is missing the bulb and the cover so i'm not sure if it will. assume it doesn't to be safe.  Headlights and taillights are all operational as well. The hazards don't. The gas gauge does. you just have to tap on it every once and a while. It has a cigarette lighter added that sits on the under dash package tray.  Probably used for the fan that was mounted on the dash at one point.
The tranny has no known issues. All forward gears and reverse work as they should. No grinding or jumping out of gear. The engine is a 1200cc with an electronic ignition and an alternator. and a newer blue upgrade 12 volt coil. The engine number is 5991870.  The engine is from a 1965 sedan. I threw it in after the original motor went just so I could move it around. The motor has a miss to it. It could be Carb It could just need a tune up. I haven't touched it. So worst case assume it needs freshened up. The bus does move under its own power.
The brakes did work up until I let it sit for about a year. I think a rear wheel cylinder is leaking.  The passenger rear tire had fluid by it.  I am 99% sure they will bleed out and work just fine. The E brake doesn't work. The back tires have about 300 miles on them and are about 3 years old. nbsp;the front has about 7000 on them and are probably 6 years old. The steering is tight. It goes down the road very well.  I think it could use shocks on it. It rebounds hard when you hit a bump. It doesn't cause bump steer or anything like that. it just hits hard up and down. The rear torsion is set higher up because it was used to haul windows and ladders in it's younger years.
The gas tank is clean and in working order. The fuel level reads. The gas door opens fine. I just don't have the "church" key. I use a Philips screw driver.
All door handles work. Cargo inner and outer handles and rear door work. No key for them though. The ignition does run off a key.
All of the glass is in very good shape. The weather stripping and window seals seem soft and pliable still.   There are some water leaks around the windshield and a few of the pop out side windows. Nothing major. Not a stream. Just some drops that get through.  I'm just trying to be as open and honest about it. I want no surprises for you. The pop out windows all work.   there is some rust on a few of the frames. All of the latches hold them when you go down the road. It is missing the inside fresh air knob that's on the roof. Maybe the inner parts. I've never had it open. I've always used the vent windows and the pop outs when it's warm.   I have a spare cargo door with a window frame and some hardware and a panel cargo door that has some hardware on it that I will throw in also.
The bumpers have some rust on them not junk but have some holes. The rear engine apron is rough at the bottom. But it still holds the engine compartment lid. Wolfsburg West sells replacements for $240. That is the only body part I would say isn't worth fixing. The dog leg on the driver side is original and in good shape. Dents and stuff but solid. The passenger side has been half replaced at some point and has some holes in it. Frame rails are good.
The drivers seat does move forward in the track. It's not frozen.  It's the correct seat. The passenger seat is from a newer bay window bus. It was welded in at one point and would need to be again. I do not have a middle seat. I do have a rusted very rear seat frame. It's rough but there. The cargo Mat is original and in pretty decent shape. The front floor mat and under seat mats are original as well. The interior white has been painted with a brush.  It was for rust protection. Not looks. So expect some runs and imperfections in it. The headliner has been patched over the years. It could use some more patching in spots but is mostly all there.
The heater tube that runs down the middle is all there. It's covered in pipe wrap to keep heat in. The last motor had the correct manifolds on it and the bus did heat extremely well in the fall. The heater diverter that controls the air to the floor or defrost works.
This bus is not junk. It's ready for a little love and go down the road or to be restored. With the 54. 92 actual miles on it. restored should be worth a ton. I Just took a video of it and uploaded it to YouTube. Any more questions or anything like that please feel free to email me.
All that stated. there is no warranty with it. Come on now. It's 51 years old.
Local pickup is ok. 44425 is the location. I have no problem working with shipping companies. But it's the responsibility of the buyer to set everything up. If I have to sign stuff and help load. that's no problem. It's just on the buyer to pay for shipping.  Heck I may even deliver it for a fee if you're close enough. International buyers please contact me before bidding I will try and work with you guys too. But again all export stuff is on you. If I need to measure or drain fluids that's no problem. Just paying for the shipping and handling. the export part is all on you.
Low and zero feedback bidders will be cancelled. Sorry. I just could use the garage space and don't feel like relisting this over and over. So be cool. please only bid if you're serious.
I have perfect feedback because I treat people like I want to be treated and I am honest. If there is any question. no matter how trivial or redundant please ask. If you need any other pictures. please ask.
Thanks for looking. Good Luck.

UPDATE: I took a compression test and all of the cylinders have a pressure around 125 +or- a few (my gauge isn't great). The miss may be in the ignition or carb. So I am going to go buy points and a condenser tomorrow. So the electronic ignition will come with it but not installed. I will give another update tomorrow afternoon.

Update #2 I put a new set of points and a condenser in it. The miss is gone. It was getting weak spark to cylinders 3 & 4 before. They are firing great now. The carb is running a little rich. So it will need fiddled with by someone more knowledgeable than me. But it starts right up and idles (a little fast). the drivers side bank is puffing a little smoke. I don't know if that was build up from it not firing properly. because it didn't smoke before. All cylinder compression is still around 125. It has plenty of power now. I added a new YouTube video of the new points and condenser.
