1962 Nash Metropolitan Convertible Resto-Mod

This is a 100% nut and bolt restoration with modern amenities (resto-mod) on a 1962 Nash Metropolitan convertible. This is a fairly
rare car as only 82 convertibles were built in 1962. the last year of Metropolitan production.

The restoration and modifications were done by Bob's Toys. one of the premier resto-mod shops on the West Coast. The goal was to build a Metropolitan that could win on the show circuit and also be driven comfortably on modern roads. on tours. and to cruise-ins
and car shows.

The car has been shown twice. winning first in class at the Forest Grove Concours d'Elegance Classic Car Show and first in class at the Portland Rod & Custom Show. It drives beautifully with absolutely no issues and can be driven enjoyed at highway speeds.

As you can see from the pictures the car looks like a stock Metropolitan from the outside. All the modifications from stock are in the driveline and the interior and include:

·        Completely re-built Nissan B210 engine; 77 cubic inches. 75 horsepower (original engine had 52 HP)

·        Weber carburetor

·        Electric fuel pump

·        Nissan automatic transmission

·        Custom driveshaft

·        Original column mounted shift linkage modified to work with automatic transmission

·        Dual master brake cylinders

·        New exhaust system

·        All new wiring

·        5 BF Goodrich T/A radial tires

·        All interior metal changed from stock black to match the same turquoise color as outside of car

·        Custom interior installed

·        Seat belts

·        Custom smaller diameter steering wheel

Restoration included:

·        All mechanical components rebuilt or replaced with new parts

·        All electrical components work correctly including lights. turn signals. wipers. horn. and gauges

·        The original AM radio was rebuilt and works

·        New windshield

·        Heater completely re-built and works

·        New convertible top. boot. and spare tire cover

·        All rubber replaced

·        All of the chrome was replaced or re-chromed including the great hood ornament!

·        Entire car was Media blasted and painted with base coat. clear coat

There are no issues with this car and nothing that needs to be done to it. This is a car that you can comfortably drive anywhere or take
to cruise-ins or judged car shows where you will always be the center of attention and always come away with a trophy. This Metropolitan just makes people smile!
