PORSCHE 911T for sale
Current customer rating:
Probably if not definitely the last running 911 T Targa for under £15. 00. Prices have literally doubled in the last 24 months of all classic 1969-73 911 s and there is nothing renovated for less than 25 k anywhere (and even then the prices being asked are more like 35 k). Looking for a used 911 to renovate only three things are really important:1) Rust. this example being from a southern US state has virtually none of any signifigance. front pan and tank support are in excellent condition. as are rear susp mounts. floors and sills. There is scarcely even a bubble on the paint except at the bottom of the driver's door. Inside the front trunk there is no evidence of welding and though there is the normal discouloration underneath there is nothing I can see that needs work for an Mo T in the structural area. 2) Engine. this example is probably the quietest. smoothest 2. 2 I have ever owned and fired up first time when we collected it from the port despite having been on an open deck ship for three weeks. It seems to be emitting no smoke and is not even leaking from the sump gaskets - truly a miracle for an older 911. The zenith carbs fuel faultlessly and there is not a single hiccup or misfire until the tank gets near the bottom and then the usual saga of the poor quality American fuel reveals itself until you have filled and emptied it twenty or so times in the UK. Gears are the usual older 911 positive engagement with stick slop. Clutch is meaty. though it does judder a little due to lack of use and the brakes are fine and the handbrake is excellent. 3) Targa top. OK condition with a a couple of little nicks and wear patches but certainly completely serviceable. Some of you may not be aware that the list price for a new Targa top for a 69-73 car is quoted at. wait for it. £10. 00!!!In summary this is a fantastic opportunity to double your investment for very little outlay. 5 k spent would make this a 25 k car MINIMUM. The car is solid and dependable but has been 'Starsky and Hutched' in the typical American 80 s idiom and as such. the interior just needs to be thrown away and started again. It comes with two original seats but the rest of the dash. doors and rear seats will need to be re-upholstered. Front and rear impact bumpers are removable and originals available from Roger Bray. I also have a set of period original Fuchs 15" wheels for an additional £1. 00. 00. The car is fully UK customs paid and cleared and I have the customs paperwork to certify this. It only requires a simple Mo T to register. following which it would make a very usuable everyday classic from week one. It even has a decent radio and seperate amp. This is a 'sold-as-seen' sale specifically because it is difficult to know exactly what might need doing to a classic car until the time it is totally stripped down and as such there is no warranty implied or given. However. inspections are welcome. Car can be viewed in London
