1968 MG B MK11 Roadster

Up for sale is my 1968 MG B roadster (convertible) The vehicle is located in Mount Gambier SA 5290 and can be viewed at any time before end of auction with prior appointment. Mount Gambier is located approx. 450 kms from Adelaide and Melbourne on the wonderful limestone coast. I am happy to assist the winning bidder where possible with transporting the vehicle or happy for it to be collected from my address.

Now for some useful information. Audrey (the MG) is a very early mark 2 MG B. I am the 4th owner of it. It was purchased by the original owner. It was green in colour. nbsp;he had it approx. 3 years when he decided he wanted a red car so the car was stripped down and painted red in approx. 1971-72. The two previous owners before myself were female owners. It has only ever been used as a Sunday driver. Cosmetically the car is in very original condition. the paint is not perfect but it always looks great. turns heads while out cruising and attracts plenty of attention when parked in the street or at a car display. The carpet has a wear mark on the drivers side from the heel of a shoe but is covered by a mat. It does show some signs of aging. the door glass has a few lights scratches. and front windscreen has a mark on it from the wrong wiper fitted at some stage of its life. The paint looks great but has got a few crazy cracks in one of the front mud guards and a slightly faded patch behind the drivers door. The original tourer (tonneau) cover is in as new condition and rarely used. Mechanically it is very good with no money spared in keeping it in top reliable condition. The car is fitted from factory with overdrive.

Approximately 5 years ago just prior to me buying the car. it had a new exhaust system fitted (inc two hot dog mufflers) so she sounds great. a new radiator was fitted and never runs hot and a new roof was fitted. the roof has the later option of being able to un zip the back window to allow greater air flow and 4 new tyres. the tyres still have approx. 40% tread left.

In the last 12 months I have spent quiet a few dollars to keep the car reliable. The electrical system has been upgraded. new generator. fitted a newer type starter motor to make starting a breeze now. distributor changed from the points style to electronic and a new coil. head lights up graded to take a H4 globe. A heavy duty clutch kit with ball bearing type thrust bearing was fitted. brand new master and slave cylinders and hoses replaced. The front shocks had started to leak so they were sent to a company in Queensland to be fully rebuilt. any worn suspension bushes were replaced. new arms that attach the back shocks to the diff were replaced also. All work has been done by a qualified mechanic that specialises in English cars.

The car is located in Mount Gambier. South Australia. 5290. Inspection is invited and recommended if possible. I am more the happy to help the winning bidder with transportation. but please contact me about this prior to bidding.  20% deposit required with in 2 days of end of auction. And the vehicle to be picked up as soon as possible. The vehicle is advertised else where. I reserve the right to end the auction early if its sold. So bid to win. It will be sad to see this fun little vehicle leave but I have young family members that would love to come from drives with me but this car is not child seat friendly. The car is currently on SA club rego. the plates and rego is not transferable but im happy to supply a permit if required to drive the car home.  Please feel free to call or text me on 0400256547 or contact me thru eBay with your email enquires and ill respond to you asap.

Update. Front brakes were replaced about 4 months ago. new brake pads. rotors and wheel bearings fitted. Ive been messaged and asked to check the engine number. the above listed number is correct. It sounds like at some stage in its life it has had a engine swap as the engine number cross's to a Austin engine number. the vin/chassis number is YGHN35523
