1973 MGB GT WHITE, Chrome Bumper, Tax and Test, Recent Restoration. Unique. for sale
Current customer rating:
Welcome to the sale/swap of my 1973 MGB GT.
She has tax till August (free from next April). OT till March 2014 (one advisory for slight lift in kingpin). 116500 Miles 4 speed with working overdrive Chrome bumpers Webasto sunroof (non leaking)
I bought her as a project in September last year. and had basically been idle since 1996. but still managed to drive from Manchester to Cramlington without a hitch.
In the time Ive owned her. I have completed the following. New sill carpets Replacement dash wood New switches Refinished dash vents New chrome window winders New gearknob. gaiter and chrome surround New interior light New door seals New boot seals New single 12 v battery New battery boxes New grab handles
Fully removed the interior. and white stone chipped the interior floors.
Retrimmed the A. B & C pillars. and door cappings in white. Retrimmed the Door cards. kick panels. rear quarter panels and arm rest in red. New Philips CD/MP 3 player New Fli 6" speakers
Moved the ignition barrel from under column to dash board.
Fully stripped the underside. and three new coats of underseal New wheel cylinders. and brake fluid. New exhaust New rear diff gasket and oil New overdrive gasket. ilter and gearbox oil. New rear gearbox oil seal. New sump gasket. and oil. New points. plugs. HT leads. Rotor Arm. Dizzy Cap. New return springs on brake. clutch and acc pedals. New seals on clutch and brake units. New callipers. discs. pads and shoes. New heater braided lines. New fan belt.
Rebuilt heater. and new internals.
New oil cooler with braided lines. Refinished under bonnet components in white and red. with new decals. Wheels refinished in standard silver and black. New coolant New top and bottom hose. and hand polished radiator. New Tudor washer bottle Hand polished rocker cover. and new gasket. Replacement vinyl seats ( came with a later type that I didnt like )
Before my ownership the car had new sills and floor. so the underside is rock solid.
Car has stacks of receipts and MOT's dating back to the nineties .
She is a real one off marmite car. and i like the uniqueness Ive built into her.
She is currently my daily driver. and is without fault.
The paint could do with a little attention (is 40 years old). but its never bothered me. and doesnt detract from the beauty of this car.
I have this listed on specialist websites. so may end auction early if sold by other means.
Please no tyre kickers or time wasters. you bid. you buy. the car is yours.
This is a UK auction. and i wont ship. no matter how much you promise me.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my listing. :)
To answer a few questions I have been given The MOT is till 14 th March 2014 ( not Feb as previously stated. my mistake ).
Areas of note on the paint. nick on the bonnet. odd nick and scratch on front wings ( wings have been replaced at some point. so no rust. One nick on roof in front of Webasto roof. Chips and scratchs on tailgate/surround. Chips on kick panels below the doors. Odd nick on doors. Surface rust. slight bubbling under lip on rear arches. odd crack/bubble on tail seams. I was quoted £250 from a classic body shop shop to put this right.
This is everything. I didnt want anyone to be disappointed when the come to view/collect the car. Again. this does not detract from the overall beauty of the B.
Thank you.
