Starting in 1977 Cadillac offered as an option the AstroRoof in the Eldorado that was a SunRoof MoonRoof combination. meaning the car had an interior head panel that when opened revealed a tinted glass roof panel so you could enjoy limited sunshine without burning your head off. as is the problem with just a standard sunroof. Moreover. The motorized tinted glass panel when opened had full open unobstructed sky view and was particularly enjoyable in the evenings when crusing the sunset strip (so-to-speak). hence the term moon roof or Astro Roof.
