Production design began at the Kar Kraft based in Brighton. MI with efforts to fit a high powered Ford 429 hemi head V8 into the Mustang. Only 859 would be built between 1969 and 1970 making them one of the most rare. and expensive. of muscle cars to collect today! Prices just this year have reached as high as $417. 00 for original examples!
We are very excited to have an opportunity to represent this 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Pro-touring tribute finished in expertly applied Candyapple Red exterior paint over an all new Deluxe Black interior upholstery! The creator of this example left no bolt untouched to bring the highest level of performance parts together to have an incredibly street savvy. understated original Boss appearance. but also offer ground pounding performance with super rigid chassis! Beginning with a true 1970 Mustang Mach I. it was completely stripped to it barest foundation and treated to a rotisserie restoration that most cars can only dream of! Nearly 600 dedicated man hours were given to bring this gorgeous Boss 9 to life. and some 200 pictures taken documenting it from start to finish!
It is definitely what lies underneath that wins over the unsuspecting. A glimpse under the hood can get any car guy's heart racing. A completely machined. balanced. and blue-printed 545ci Hemi V8 by TNT Engineering that produces an astounding 800 horsepower! Fitted with 10. 5:1 custom forged dish pistons. Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft. Kaase aluminum heads. Lunati lifters. Manley stainless valves. Kaase intake and valve covers. Holley carburetion. MSD electronic ignition. and much more! Cooling is provided by a Howe Racing Products aluminum radiator. Ford Racing aluminum water pump. & Zirgo ultra high performance electric cooling fan! The transmission of choice for many pro-touring fans comes from Tremec. This Boss utilizes a Tremec TKO600 with upgraded brass synchros & carbon fiber linings. shift kit upgrade. McLeod RXT Street Twin hydraulic clutch. McLeod billet steel flywheel. & Lakewood bell housing! The exhaust starts with custom welded made FPA headers mated to 3” stainless tubing with polished Magnaflow mufflers and Pypes chrome tips! The sound is nothing short of impressive. and very menacing!
The suspension and brakes were a huge priority to make this monster handle well. and stop aggressively! Builders have many choices but only a few will spend the money as well as you find underneath this powerhouse! Up front and rear. you will find the Street Performer system from Gateway Classic Mustang that includes a McPherson coil-over strut system. heavy duty control arms. front 1” sway bar. rack & pinion steering. red 4-piston Baer brake calipers. 13” two-piece drilled & slotted rotors. custom 3-link rear suspension with AFCO Racing coil-over adjustable shocks. traction bars. watts linkage. sub frame connectors & cross members welded in place. and all polyurethane bushings! It plants the 9” rear end. fitted with 3. 25 gearing. in place without wheel hop and can hold the corners as well as a modern sports car! On the ground are a custom set of American Racing Magnum 500 wheel measuring 17x8” up front and 17x9. 5” out back wrapped in Nitto tires. A very impressive set-up with nothing overlooked!
