The car has only been driven 700 easy weekend miles since restoration (odometer reset at time of engine rebuild). I have many receipts (from past three CA owners dating back to the 1990s) along with pictures of the restoration process (receipts. restoration pictures. and repair manual come with the car). The car was restored by car enthusiast C. Taylor at his home shop in central California. (For those not familiar with Taylor's work. he built the awesome '55 Chevy Nomad that was used regularly in the sitcom "Home Improvement" with Tim Allen).
You will not find a more meticulously restored Lincoln Continental convertible for this price. period. Tens of thousands of dollars have been invested into this car along with countless hours of skilled labor during restoration. The car has been restored the right way. This car has NOT been lowered or air-bagged or adulterated in any way. The car still has its original black CA license plates.
Earlier this year. this classic '61 Continental won the "Coolest Convertible Award" at the 2013 Downtown Lincoln Car Show in Lincoln. CA. The car has a clean CA title and is registered in my name. This car glides on the freeway or side-streets and makes people smile wherever you go. It is truly an awesome experience to drive this specimen of automotive history (only 2. 57 convertibles produced that year!) -- the first year of the wildly popular "suicide doors" and "slab-side" body styling. The 1961 Continental became infamously known as the car that John F. Kennedy was riding in when he was assassinated in Dallas. TX in 1963.
Since restoration the car has always been garaged and covered and has not seen rain or any type of inclement weather. I have mainly driven the car around Pacific Coast Highway in Southern California where I live. In my opinion. the paint job is outstanding. It is quite deep and glossy. I put in a brand new battery TODAY (August 4. 2013) - it has a 2 year warranty. The pictures speak for themselves (I have more upon request). I hired a professional photographer to take high resolution photos of the car to show how clean the car is.
