This fresh build was acquired from a local family who had put the car away for many years.  This is a California car with no rust. that is solid everywhere. Early Cougars are great values with easy to source parts from many vendors. And the 69 model XR7 is the one everyone wants.  This American Hotrod is Fast. Loud. looks Mean and get's a TON of attention.  And best of all. there aren't 10. 00 lookalike cousins in every parking lot.  Built to drive in a 2016 environment. this 1969 Cougar is ready to Show and  Go …

She's not just a pretty face.  Packed under the hood is a potent  351 Windsor motor that loves to run. She's beefed up. dressed up and delivering the power through a 4 speed top-loader transmission that spits out burnouts on demand.

Rarity

Mercury Cougars initially were luxury versions of Mustangs with nicer interiors and quieter cabins.  Produced in much lower quantities and at a higher price. you could opt for a bit of fun with a 3 or 4 speed but few people actually did.  Those few performance optioned 4 speed cars are now quite collectible.  This is one of the rare but attainable hotrod big cats.

Exterior.

Fresh Raven Black Two stage paint.  Clearcoat has been buffed to a high sheen and looks amazing. Slammed Stance. Mono trim. Shaved marker lamps. Shaved radio antenna. Excellent panel fit. Excellent glass. Barrel lock hood pins with keys.  See the pictures.

Chrome Mach 1 Wheels. Near new tires.

Interior

The fresh Burgundy seat upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips. tears or abnormalities. Logo headrests. New door panels.  New Black carpeting throughout. a beautiful dash and a new correct headliner.  New package tray. Fresh rubber and seals throughout.  Custom steering wheel.  Console with  Four on the Floor Shifter.  

Lighting

The headlamp vacuum system function and stays closed when off.  The classic sequential tail lights were reconditioned and tinted. Interior lamps plus custom Logo puddle lamps.

Audio

AM FM USB Bluetooth mated to Premium Audio 6X9 speakers. Hidden antenna.

Engine

The one you want! Rebuilt 351 Windsor. original to this car and built 30 over with a mild cam. Built to run on today's unleaded.  (We understand these Windsor engine can be made to produce 700HP!)  Hotrod parts include AFB carburetor. Edelbrock Streetmaster high flow manifold. Hooker Headers. Flowmasters. new belts.  All electrical updated as well. alternator. starter. distributor. solenoid and regulator are all new.  

Transmission

Toploader 4 Speed is an upgrade from the standard 3 speed.  

Braking

Rebuilt complete and operating properly.  Power front Disc brakes.  New shocks. bushings. cylinders.  Front wheel alignment just completed.

Trim

The “Murdered Out” trim is in excellent shape and has been color matched to the car.

Odometer

The odometer shows 34499 miles and operates properly.  This is a five digit odometer and it is highly likely that the odometer has turned over once.

DMV

The California title is clear and all documentation is included.  No back fees are due.  No smog is required for California residents. Very low cost Antique registration for most US States.

A thick build book with extensive documentation is included.  There are detailed photos of the restoration work. documentation. warranties and receipts. Clear California title.
