Up for bid is a 1935 Auburn 653 cabriolet/coupe project. I believe a deluxe model as it has the 2 speed differential and 2 tail light buckets. The VIN indicates it was a coupe body but there is very little difference between the coupe and cabriolet. I planned to make it a cabriolet so I have title and collector plates for it.  This car has been in my storage for over 30 years and I have been collecting parts for it during that time.   It includes everything in the picture.

The body is very solid and in nice restorable condition. The panels are straight. The trunk floor is very solid. There are 3 small bullet holes in the trunk in a structured area but can be easily fixed. The trunk and edges are solid. The wood is gone but I have paper patterns and plenty of pics of all the wood for the car. The doors are in very solid and straight condition. I believe there is 1 small bullet hole and 1 nickle size rust spot on one of the doors. The doors contain the latch and window mechanism along with the chrome door tops and window frames. The original 2 piece chrome dash/ash tray/windshield frame is there along with one of the original windshield posts. The ends are broken. The original post still has the broken parts attached to it. Included in the picture is a rechromed panel and 2 windhshield posts. Also included are the door jam metal covers and some metal floor/wood bracing.

The chassis is a 1935 653 6 cylinder. #3 cylinder is cracked but can be sleeved. The rest of the engine looks to be in very good. restorable condition. Transmission spins freely and looks good. Includes driveshaft. The differential is the 2 speed and it rolls nicely. Radiator looks very good. Includes starter. generator and a startix.

Also included are 2 VERY nice front fenders. 2 very good rear fenders. a third good fender. a NOS glenn Prey running board. a good restorable hood with stainless trim. a very nice dash instrument panel. a good glove box door. the 2 piece chrome dash/windsheild frame and 3 windsheild posts. and a very good cowl vent door. 1 decent rocker panel. and a very nice Glenn Prey? rear bumper (not pictured) .

I planned to restore the car as a cabriolet so I have MANY hard to find parts to complete it as a cabriolet. This would include pretty much a complete the top (some Glenn Prey originals. some repro). wood bows. chrome header piece.  radio head and radio box. heater. dash instruments. tach with drive. headlights and lens. chrome knobs. hood mascot & spoons. a VERY nice complete hood. fair 852 running boards. cats eyes lighters and ash tray. 1 wire wheel. handles. horns. atleast 6 NOS hubcaps and several very nice used. 8 good used piston and all valves. aluminum heads. grill inserts. misc little pieces. some new rubber. ect. The new owner will get first chance to buy any or all of these parts at a great price to help him complete the car so please don't ask me to sell anything early.

A VERY hard to find body. Turn this chassis or your 4 dr. into a car worth 4 times what it is worth. not to mention being a totally different car to enjoy.

Sold as is. Pickup only. Please ask any questions before bidding.

Check out my other 653 4 dr. Auburn # 281140555482. Unfortunately I am getting rid of all my Auburn stuff.
