1971 MG MGB for sale
Current customer rating: (322 votes ) based onThe car has been restored from the ground up over the last 3 months including new. paint. glass. seats. trim. grille. dash. roof. exhaust etc. the list of items either restored or replaced is extensive needless to say I have over $7500 in parts and paint with invoices to show proof. This is not not including any of my labor. This car had zero rust on the body when stripped down. saldy most of the damage was from the sun so everything that was rubber or material had to be replaced.
The car was originally Racing Green with the autumn leaf interior and purchased From a MG dealership in Scottsdale Arizona where it stayed with its original owner until 2001 when it transferred to 2nd owner in Las Vegas until my purchase in June of this year. I have all the original paperwork from the sale of the vehicle. registration documents back to 72 and bills for repairs over its life totaling over $13k. at some point the car was repainted red and I have decided to restore it to its factory original Racing Green but go with a black interior as the autumn leaf really does show dirt rather easily.
I am listing the vehicle with a start price of what I have into it parts wise.
I would recommend that any interested parties contact me on 425 999 2154 as i really cannot list the amount of work I have completed on here without writing a novel. This vehicle is listed elsewhere and I do not think that this vehicle will last long on the market so I recommend not sitting watching the listing for a week as I honestly believe it will sell before the auctions end.
About me.
I am a British engineer and apart form the final paint I have completed everything from the paint prep. electrical & mechanical repairs and replacement of parts myself. I decided on originality and to save as many parts as possible and restore rather than buy lesser quality replacement parts. Choosing NOS Lucas or British made parts before Chinese. The only part that is not original to the model year is the grille and battery placement as the original recessed/fishmouth grilles are no longer available for purchase. Apart from that its exactly as it rolled of the line back in 71 right down to the environmental filters. Believe it or not the engine bay has not been dressed save for a few emblems.
There are a few items to be completed in the next week such as a carb balance. fit door arm rests and have wheels painted and a final color sand and buff on the paintwork.
If the new seller would like I can also replace all bushings with sport poly ones instead of the original rubber type and fit wire wheels at additional cost.
Truly this is a very rare opportunity to have a extremely well documented honest original MGB that I can honestly say would win any local car show and with a little dressing up of the underside could be one of the best remaining in the country.
It goes without saying that I will not entertain low ball offers so please save yourself the time and effort of such messages.
Non payment of any winning bidder will be pursued through the courts for damages.
This car will not be remved from auction until funds have cleared.
