1977 Toyota Land Cruiser

Here is a very special FJ40 and here's the story. I bought the car recently because it looked all original. which it is. Once home and upon a closer look I can say the vehicle's mileage is original. The original paperwork was in the glove compartment which shows it was purchased by Mr. H. R. Johnson from Palo Alto. California on September 23. 1977 from Palo Alto Toyota (more on him later). I have two copies of the registration. one from 1986 and from 1987 as well.  What is most important is a bill from Nov 30 1985 in which Mr Johnson purchases 4 new 235/15 SNO II tires from Tahoe City Chevron  and the mileage on the bill is listed as 15. 73 miles. The reason its interesting is because those tires are still on the truck! They are pretty dry rotted. but they hold air and have plenty of tread left which supports the fact that since 1985 the vehicle has only been driven for about 6000 miles. When inspecting the vehicle you can see all are original parts. When you take off the oil filler cap. the valve rockers look brand new (futher evidence) and the vehicle runs great. I replaced the radiator and rebuilt the brake master cylinder but have kept the old parts. The radiator looks like it somehow got hit from above and was leaking. may be repairable. The dasboard.  is in perfect condition and underneath. all the wires and cables are in their original locations with original clamps etc. The firewall is perfect with very few. if any scratches on it. The paint in the vehicle is the original paint too! 
In addition. the original owner. Mr H. R. Johnson. was one of the founders of Watkins-Johnson Company in 1954 which manufactured electronics and whose microwave tubes are on the Voyager 1 spacecraft right now! You can look it up on Wikipedia.
There is even history on this man online which shows his signature and it matches a receipt I have for an oil change in 1986.
In short. this is a very special vehicle due to its history and originality. Even though it needs some work to bring it back aesthetically. it is a rare opportunity for an original. low mileage Land Cruiser. Please write to me if you have any questions.  
If you think I am asking too much for it. then make me a reasonable offer. I dont think there are many of these vehicles out there with such low mileage. A restored FJ40 sold at Arizona auction in January for $82. 00. 00 and that one. although restored. was not as original to begin with and had much more mileage on the odometer.  
Even though I have disclosed all I know and what I believe about this vehicle. I cannot guarantee it. Please verify it by inspecting it prior to buying. you will not be dissapointed though.
