Built in Dearborn Michigan in 1965. this is an original V8 car. It was fully restored about 8 years ago in the USA at which point the owner drew up a really high specification list of components and commissioned it as a GT350 clone.
• New. Uprated front and rear suspension (Fitted 2 months ago)
• Limited slip differential
• Custom built C6 gearbox. with upgraded internals.
• The disc brakes work perfectly. pulling the car up quickly and evenly. They don't fade and have a much better feel to them than most other mustangs I've been in.
• Manual steering: this has been setup really nicely and isn't too tight or heavy and you don't need an enormous steering wheel to make it usable.
• Ford 351 Cleveland V8 engine. Was rebuilt 3 years ago with following spec: Fast road cam. Aluminium roller rockers. uprated oil pump. Aluminium performance intake manifold and a 600cfm double barrel Holley carburettor. The fuel pump is an electric high powered unit that feeds though a regulator and is adjustable. Estimated power output is north of 350BHP. The engine runs superbly. pulling really strong from low revs and builds revs very quickly when you open the throttle. It was serviced last month with: new distributor cap. new HT leads. plugs. oil + filter and new coolant. It has an oversize aluminium radiator so no cooling problems.
• I've just had a set of very expensive exhaust manifolds custom fabricated by a company in the US. They sound good and aren't too loud when ticking over and at low revs (no complaints from my neighbours). but it sings when you put your foot down and If you really want to be heard. the option is there to bypass the silencers altogether with the exhaust ‘cut-out valves' that are fitted. These were fitted when the car was restored along with a few other fun toys… it has brake line-lock and a nitrous kit. The actual nitrous canister wasn't with the car when I bought it and I've not fitted one because I don't think it needs it. And I don't really have the bottle for that kind of thing.
• I've just fitted a full black interior. Everything is brand new and it looks really smart. It also has the desirable fold down rear seat.
• The car is correctly registered and I have the V5. It has a long MoT and the tax is free. I've looked after this car and treated it with care. It hasn't wanted for anything and I've never cut any corners when it comes to maintenance or servicing. All in all. it's a good solid car that's ready to go. Just hop in and drive away.
Bad points:• Although it works. the speedo needle does jerk about quite a bit and doesn't have a very smooth action.  • The fuel pump is currently hard-mounted directly to the chassis which doesn't affect the way it works. but does makes it quite noisy. so I have ordered some rubber cotton-reel mounts to make it let intrusive on long journeys.
