1955 Morris oxford Traveller Series II - 2 door woody. only 5. 00 built before model changed to all metal 4 door estate. Larger than a Morris Minor Traveller. will seat 6 comfortably.
Restored a couple of years ago & upgraded at same time. since then just used in summertime & kept in garage. It is fitted with an 1800cc MG B engine onto original 4 speed column shift gearbox with and MG A rear axle differential allowing car to cruise at 70 mph but still be able to tow a lightweight caravan when required. Brakes are still drum but now have a remote servo. the wheels have been changed for 15" MG Magnette's allowing slightly wider radial tyres to be fitted which have etched on whitewalls. Bodywork is excellent with new timbers fitted. new chrome trim & bodywork with steel external sun visor. New flat glass & channels to side windows. re-upholstered front bench seat & side panels to match original rear seat. Many spares including original 1500cc engine & ancillaries. pair of doors. assorted trim. dash clocks. switches etc. and a work shop manual.
Only faults I know of is original black rubber trim to rear wheeel arches & trailing edge of wings missing. so have cut ext. plywood to same shape & painted black to give similar look. Also rear cross member behind bumper needs a patch welding on approx 4" in length to drivers door.
A Historic practical vehicle not requiring an MOT & with free road tax and is available to view at my home. contact through eBay to arrange a suitable time.
