1986 Ferrari Mondial 3. 2 Quattrovalvole is for reluctant sale. A great investment for whoever gets her - these 3. 2 and the 3. 4 Mondials are starting to climb in value.
I have 13 year old year old twin boys who could fit in the back when I bought it but now they are much bigger. I need something else such as a really nice Jaguar Mk2 or S-Type. Arnage or something old. interesting and room for 4 for about the same value.
I'm a sucker for red interiors and had to have this when I saw it at a dealership. She is a wonderful car in beautiful condition and very very rare in this colour combination which looks more modern than red and I think it makes it look sleeker too. It is the specification and colour combination Ferrari themselves chose to go in the brochure for the 3. 2.
My car is ex-Jersey. made in 1986 but came to the UK in 1989. I have full service history and a pile of invoices and information including the original leather wallet. hand books and two sets of keys. In the last thousand miles she had had two services. belts and valves done. wiring upgrade for starter. cam covers and belt covers refinished. wheels refurbished. half shaft. wheel bearings. discs/pads. overhauled header tank and loads more (spent £6000). Everything done that my Ferrari specialist said I needed to do and then some more that I wanted too.
The tyres are Michelins and the correct size and format with most of the tread remaining - I don't think the spare has ever seen the road as the label backing is still on it. The windscreen is original with the Ferrari ID sticker still in place and mint. The electric sunroof works perfectly and quickly(!) as do the windows (driver's side recently rebuilt).
She goes and drives faultlessly. sounds amazing and almost everything works - all I can think of that doesn't is the fuel flap solenoid (I open it with the release cable under the engine cover) and an electric mirror. I also had the wire pulled on the central door locking when my kids were young to stop them messing with the electric door release and the air con belt removed. This was the last model that had the Ferrari check control panel which was deleted for the 3. 4 because they were rubbish and gave false errors as mine normally enjoys doing.
I am also including the valuable plate XYC 503 and I will put the car through an MOT even though it isn't due until the end of the year and passed with NO ADVISORIES. She isn't perfect but is show quality in my opinion and has been garaged and fussed over continuously since I had her. I know of no expensive jobs lurking or due - you really can just drive and enjoy her. As this is the 3. 2 it is much cheaper to service and run than the 3. 4 as the engine stays in the car for belts and clutch changes.
As Mondials. 308's and 328's are rapidly going up in value now this is a sure-fire investment in my opinion.
