Buick Roadmaster Stationwagon (1949) Offered for sale is a very rare and collectable
Not to be missed Buick Roadmaster Dynaflow 5. 2 Fireball Dyna Flash straight eight engine
The Roadmaster (Model 79 K) was the top-of-the-line for Buick in 1949. designated for the first time by the four "Venti Ports" on side of the front fenders.
These and the "bombsight" hood ornament are but two of the very neat period touches--including a full leather interior. carpeted rear cargo area and elegant mahogany veneer interior door panels to this fabulous car. There were just 653 (including 21 for export) of these woodies built in 1949 and only 17 are known by the Buick Club to still exist. Ours was sold new to Offield L. Herbert in Los Angeles in November. 1949 and remained in his ownership until the car relocated. then with 91. 68 miles. to Arizona in 1977 to be used as a welcome car at at a dude ranch owned by the Hoffman family. This history of the car no doubt explains the incredibly fine and original condition of the body and woodwork.
Finished in Midnight Blue with matching leather and magnificent chrome and woodwork both outside and in. it is powered by its original 150 horsepower Fireball Dyna Flash straight eight engine and is all that more rare to be equipped with Buick's new Dynaflow automatic transmission. a driver side spotlight. a wooden roof-rack and and period air conditioning probably added sometime in the 1960's.
Almost unmarked inside and out with concour-quality paintwork. this car drives beautifully and very smoothly. Within 2009. almost $15. 00 was spent to bring this car to driving standards commensurate with its fabulous physical and cosmetic condition.
Then in 2010 over £2000 was spent with its current owner when the dynaflow gearbox was completely stripped and fully overhauled with 90% of all the moving parts being replaced for new. Along with a full health check.
Viewing is highly recommended and will bring no disappointment. This Buick is ready to drive away Having 12 Months MOT and current TAX All papers and documents registered in this country. Export enquiries welcome
