For sale - 1971 VW type 2 tin top low indicator early camper/ bus with "rat look"

This bus started off life in Florida USA and made its way up North America.

It belonged to an old hippy that used it to go to festivals and concerts. It's covered in Greatful Dead and Dead Head stickers so you know this bus has some awesome history!

Its got some heavy patina and some battle scars that add to its charm.

The good thing about this bus is that the floor is in great condition. The owners must have taken out an under seal package as most of the floor is original and shine's like brand new!

I've done most of the hard work while leaving this bus as original as I could. It's a great blank canvas.

I've done
all the wielding on the anchor points and front floor pan replaced the windscreen. ew tyres. new brake pipes and hoses. ew master cylinder. refurbed the calipers new exhaust hand brake cables etc
I've spent a small fortune and I've got the engine running nice. but as it is a 40 year old engine and i would recommend a full service and check up.

I can arrange to trailer away or I can deliver for a small fee.

As you can see from the pics it has a Westafaila interior rock and roll bed etc that needs a little tidying up.

I have the bills both from here and what the last owner spent in USA as well.

I've got it registered on UK plates and v5 is presently in my name. with 11 months mot .

This is a real awesome bit of kit. I've taken it out a few times and the attention it gets is unreal. It certainly stands out from the crowd!
