For Sale is my 1963 Austin Healey Sprite. I bought the car with a friend and have started to get it restored but now run out of funds. The Car is the very rare Mk 2 with the fully removable roof and side screens with sliding Perspex.
This is a very genuine old Sprite with 2-Owners from new and a low 63. 00 miles. It's been stood since 1991 in a dry garage. The Car has an interesting registration 5330 LG valued at £1200 by an online valuation team.
The Engine:The Legendary A-Series 1098 cc Engine starts instantly and runs great. We have fitted a fully reconditioned Cylinder head at great cost [Over £400]Whilst the head was off it had Unleaded valve seats fitted. new valve guides and a light Skim. The pistons and cylinder bores are original low mileage with next to no wear. New Copper head gasket. manifold gaskets and head nuts.
The Bodywork:The car looks very pretty and is actually surprisingly very solid underneath. I have found a small hole in the boot which is the only welding I can see. The Paintwork is not the best. it's full of tiny micro blisters. looks okay from 6 ft but would recommend a full spray [The car deserves it!]New front wings have been fitted at some point. very solid. New rear quarter on drivers side not perfect. Floors are solid. front castle sections very good. all usual Midget/Sprite places look okay. The Bonnet has rusted on the front lip but we have a very good replacement to go with the car.
The Interior:The car's interior is very clean-Dark blue vinyl seats with white piping. The dash is also trimmed in the same vinyl and all seems to look clean and great. There has been a fair amount of money spent on new seats I presume as they look like new. All the gauges are original and seem to work fine. All electrics seem to work. Headlights. Sidelights. Indicators. Wipers. Starter.
Overall:Overall the car will require a very light restoration. It currently starts and drives but the brakes will require attention as will the clutch hydraulics [Working but stiff]It's a very nice presentable low miles car with 2 owners from new. V 5 C present. 63. 00 miles believed to be genuine. As with any car that has been stood for this length of time It's best to give it a full check over yourself. you will find faults that I have not.
