(Probably adds 40-50 HP over stock system alone)
Known History: I purchased it from the 2 nd owner who had purchased it in the late 70's. I discovered the car in approx 1988 and after tracking down the current owner. he had no desire to sell the car. Two years later I found its twin nearby in Provo. UT.
Fast forward to 1999. I located the car again and the owner was still reluctant to sell. In 2002 the owner's father listed the car in a local newspaper classified ad as a "69 Mercury Interceptor". curious I called to find out it was the 70 Competition Blue Eliminator that I had previously tried to buy twice before. Reluctantly. he finally sold me the car. ith an incorrect drivetrain ( engine/transmission) but with having the correct 31 spline 9" 3. 50 . 1 Traction Lok rear end.
I set out to restore the car.
Previously I had sold a 1970 Mercury Cougar minus a 428 Cobra Jet with C 6 transmission. so this was a perfect match since the donor car was built 3 weeks prior to this car.
