This is the second to last RHD 3. 0CSi ever made. it is a genuine Right Hand Drive manual car. one of only 207 made. It is finished in Midnight Blue with Tan leather interior. In 1975 they only made 13 cars and was sold new to Hong Kong with a great spec. The car has the factory fitted sunroof. Tan Leather interior. Air Conditioning.

BMW's so called 'New Class' compact Saloons and Coupes manufactured between 1962 and 1975 quite simply saved the company from extinction. Introduced in 1965. the 2000C and 2000CS Coupes featured distinctive-looking Karmann-built bodies and luxurious interiors and. having set a trend. were superseded in 1968 by the first of the E9 Coupes - the 2800CS. The length and wheelbase of the newcomer were extended to accommodate the 2788cc straight-six engine from the E3 Saloon. and the nose of the Karmann monocoque body was restyled to echo that of its four-door sibling.

The 170bhp of the new. silky smooth powerplant was sufficient to propel the handsome Coupe to 60mph in 8. 5 seconds and on to a top speed of a whisker under 130mph. The fully independent suspension was by MacPherson struts up front and semi-trailing arms at the rear. Braking was still by disc/drums and the steering by a power-assisted ball and nut system. The 2800CS was supplanted by the 3. 0CS and 3. 0CSi in 1971. for which the engine was bored out to give a capacity of 2986cc - in fuel-injected CSi guise. this produced 200bhp at 5. 00rpm.

This car was completely restored in the nineties. the engine rebuilt with a hotter cam. gas flowed head. a get rag 5 speed gearbox and LSD were also added for daily use. The car is now Mot'd. drives perfectly but has some corrosion to the outer sill areas and rear wheel arches. It has only had 3 previous owners and the last for 16 years! We have a huge history folder with the car including photos of the last restoration and hundreds of invoices going back to the eighties. The mileage of 89. 00 appears to be correct but this cannot be warranted.

These car are becoming increasingly more popular. the CSL now commanding £50k plus for nice examples. these manual CSi's are the next desirable model. this car being a very late model is a very desirable car with many options not found on the earlier cars. This is a rare opportunity to buy the second the second to last car made. with a great history. for a reasonable price. The colours are perfect and this is a 4 seater classic you can use every day. a really practical and stylish option. It is taxed and MOT'd and ready for its next owner.
