1970 Datsun Z-Series

1970 Datsun 240 z 10/70

Motor runs great. doesn't over heat. and has always been strong. needs a tune though. Car has pretty much been babied ever since I got it 5-6 years ago. I had just recently crashed my last Z so had no real desire to drive crazy and fast anymore.

Drivetrain:

Motor was built buy the previous owner and former datsun factory- motor assembly worker. He rebuilt the motor. trans and diff from ground up with new internals. Head is from a 260 z. block is from a 280 z and they've been bored slightly over and everything's port matched. Has a big cam. SU carbs. most vacuum lines have been replaced with blue silicone lines. all fuel lines have been replaced also. new NGk spark plug wires. has an electronic distributer that I can throw in also. electric fan. brand new KOYO radiator. transmission has new internals built by Datsun worker. 5 speed. new clutch master and slave cylinders.

HID 4 K euro style flat glass headlights with upgraded wiring harness so it doesn't overheat the fuse box. none of the electrical on the car has been butchered/spliced etc. only thing that has ever been cut is the stereo wire plug. Electrical wise the car has no issues and everything works perfectly.

Brakes:

upgraded 4 piston front calipers with drilled and slotted rotors.
Rear disc brake conversion. brand new brake calipers and rotors. custom braided break lines.
15/16 brake master cylinder

Suspension:
Big away bars. old tokico struts and springs 90 s era parts. lowered it by about an inch and a half. Handles very nicely

Has CCW reps STR 520 17 x 9 +20 with 1" bullet aluminum spacers that make it a -13 offset. Wheels stick out of the fenders a little bit don't rub. Brand new tires with about 100 miles on them or less. wheels are the same. about 100 miles on them also. Definitely not a track set of wheels or anything. just for A-B/ cruising driving. Wouldn't trust replicas on a track by any means. But they look good. Also have the original 70 s era slotted mags and a set of I believe old enkies on the other original 70 that I can throw in if interested.

Interior:
Everything is there and in great condition. all vinyls are good. plastics. headliner. doorpanels etc. dash has cracks under the plastic dash cap. all switches and electrical components work perfectly. middle console was replaced with a new one. Brand new combo switch and turn signal switches. Gauges have blue LEDs wired to a switch on the middle console. I have the actual white blue led bulbs that replace the old bulbs in the gauges also. just never got around to it. Has two discontinued Sparco roaster seats. near perfect condition one seat has a very small spot where the dark grey fabric that's layered on top of other black fabric has come off. barely noticeable and about the size of a quarter. Auto sport roll cage. Grant racing steering wheel. also have the original wood grain one if desired.

sound: ( audio equipment has not been installed in the car. but will come with the car. all unopened brand new audio equipment)

2 10" bazooka subs. /

kenwood deck. 1000 watt kicker amp. kenwood tweeters. kenwood 6 x 9 s

Exterior:
Red paint. black hood with vents. car has never been bondo'd. but does have rust in all the common areas. floorboards. doglegs and a small spot on the roof. Needs paint and some body work. No dents though and everything is straight. aftermarket front air damn. glass is all there and in good condition. Has new hatch and door seals. just haven't glues them in place because I wanted to paint the car first. All exterior lights work perfectly. headlights. taillights. blinkers etc. Side markers have been replaced with clearz euro side markers.

Bad things: (all easy stuff except for maybe body work)
Body work/rust/paint
Needs tune (timing. carbs etc) still runs fine just really rich
