Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 1 for sale

Offered for auction is this early Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in porcelain white with olive green leather interior. The car was laid up in July 2012 on the expiry of its last MOT it has not been started or moved since that time and the bonnet has seized shut. It would either be a suitable subject for a complete and extensive restoration or provide a source of spares.
Although it appears solid from 15 feet away. there is substantial corrosion to the bodywork in the areas typically affected on these vehicles. including the front and rear valances. lower wings and wheel arches. The last photograph shows the worst affected of the wheel arches. There is also a large hole in the battery well located in the boot. All brightwork is present and in good condition with minimal pitting to the bumpers.
Water ingress through the large webasto type sunroof has caused damage to the interior. causing the carpets and carpeted lower door trims to rot. It must be assumed that the floor pans have also suffered corrosion. Seats and door cards appear to have been recoloured and connolised at some point and are in surprisingly good condition. responding well to treatment with a leather cleaner and conditioner. These areas could be improved by further conditioning. All the interior woodwork would require refurbishment. Door cappings and the rare Chippendale dash would need to have a new polyester lacquer applied due to cracking of the original finish. although the veneers are almost entirely intact.
Although the car would require substantial work to return it to the road. with the exception of a battery
it is complete and unmolested.
The V 5 C and one key are present.
As has been emphasized throughout the listing the car is offered for spares or restoration so will need to be moved by trailer or transporter.
