vanden plas allegro 1500 1976 fitted 5 speed stunning restored history show car

The allegro based version of the  vanden plas  fitted 1500 with 5 speed

well where do i start the car is pretty much as close to driving one out of the factory when you get into it and drive although its had a make over  by myself .

this car will now win awards im sure  as the cars i have restored in the past have won concours awards .

i  replaced the  bad engine and box  with  a low milage 1500 with manual 5 speed (59k) and its sweet .

i stripped the body of all fittings and  removed  engine and all transmission . then after preparation of the engine bay painted tahiti blue .

when i got the engine out of the other allegro i stripped cleaned and painted in  bmc green and did all parts too .

with all new gaskets and seals in the transmission too so no oil leaks now it was ready to fit.

i did a superb paint  job 2k and it looks  great including both sides of boot and bonnet .

most original parts refitted and although shinny the wheel trims have small dents so in time i would source better ones to make car perfect .

the interior is lovey only slight tear to upper part of drivers seat and carpet has worn under footwell covered in nice carpet overmats now    the car is good  underneath  too very sound

in its past it was a show car and i have a file of history and bills and lots of sets of keys too .

 its has a  mot till october 2012 tax is out but i can sort for buyer its  cheap anyhow .

driving the car is so nice quiet and well im amazed how it drives no horrible electrical problems so simple and yet economical too .

you will struggle to fine a better one

the engine bay  is stunning

for an idea the labour costs and materials alone to get it like this are over £4500

lots of hours in this car and i have enjoyed every minute of it
