Vehicle Description:
Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a wonderful 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible.
It's tough to pinpoint one quintessential classic American car. but a bright red Mustang Convertible just might be it.
Ford revolutionized the idea of car buying with the Ford Mustang.
Rather than 2-3 trim levels. the Mustang came with an options list a mile long.
Buyers could spec out their car just the way they wanted.
With 3 body styles. multiple engines. transmissions. colors and equipment available. it's tough to find two Mustangs that are exactly alike.
The car appealed to the masses and sold in amazing numbers.
Men. women. young people. families. racers. EVERYONE wanted a Mustang.
This particular example is a 1966 Convertible optioned with the "C code" 289 CID V 8 2 v.
This engine is a great lightweight V 8 for the Mustang and was used in many Ford vehicles in many different variations.
The 289 is backed by a C-4 automatic transmission and the stock 8" rear end with 2. 80 final drive ratio.
The exterior is the correct "T" Candyapple Red.
Contrasting well with the red is a new white convertible top in great condition.
This is a power actuated top that functions as it should.
The car rides on a set of stock wire wheel covers for a dressier look ($ 58. 24 option).
Other options include power steering. bucket seats. luggage rack. AM radio. and white wall tires.
The interior features black vinyl upholstery and lots of new parts including: dash pad. seat upholstery. carpet. door panels. wood grain cluster. and steering wheel.
The car shows very well and drives just as nicely.
This would be a great addition to any collection. or a great entry level classic for those looking for a fun cruiser.
