1950 Riley RMB 2. 5 Litre

 

Lovingly Restored And One Of Its Kind

 

These wonderful. sought-after cars rarely come up for sale. Being the 2. 5 litre it is far superior bigger and much better to drive than the under powered 1. 5 litre. with only 6900 produced between its launch in 1946 and its replacement in 1952 the RMB it is a rare classic and much worth a second look. I truly believe this vehicle to be one of finest existing examples in the world today.

This is a unique and immaculate lovingly restored by my father in the 1990's with no expenses spared 1950 example. It has been owned by my father since 1990 and used on a semi regular occasions. It drives perfect.

The actual bodywork is completely sound with no rust or rot. The paintwork is in showroom condition and immaculate. The underside is totally rock solid with no rot or nasty surprises and has never been welded underneath and certainly doesn't need any welding. The ash frame is perfectly solid and sound. All chrome parts were re-chromed in the 1990's.

The interior is restored with dark red leather with no tears or marks. The roof covering is original and is in remarkably good shape.

Mechanically it is truly superb. The engine fires into life almost instantly when cold and instantly when warm. The oil pressure is incredible. The engine literally purrs when ticking over and roars beautifully when throttle is applied. I recently drove it on a 120 mile trip and it went like a dream. The gearbox is also fabulous.

There are no nasty whines. rattles or knocks and this car is an absolute joy to drive.
