1971 VW camper

Hello and welcome to my auction for the 1971 early bay window camper.
first of all sorry some of the pics are sideways. nbsp;I've tried and tried and tried. but apple is rubbish and just keeps doing it. the pics are right way round when uploaded. but it just saves it on e bay skew wiff. o sorry.
the camper is very clean. its fully original. all the interior is all the original equipment. fittings. and fitments. beds etc all the standard equipment. very importantly its a california car. so solid as a rock lived out in the sun its whole life. there is some scrapes and dents her and there seem the photos. I've taken pics and uploaded them. with my thumb next to them for scale of size. nothing down to the metal or anything that has compromised the panel though so thats a positive. it generally just needs a right good clean and some love.
i bought the camper off its original owner. its had (with full receipts for over 4k and even paper work and a users guide/handbook) a full new performance engine. with twin carbs. and performance exhaust. after market oil cooler. bosch "flame thrower" performance ignition system. it starts on the turn of a key overtime. and runs absolutely sweet as a nut. mileage is genuine. and the engine has actually only had about 8 thousand miles done on it. nbsp;
I've got the original sales brochure. and loads of old receipts and original vw books and folders with it for this bus (which I'm told is quite rare) which is a testament to its originality and condition and its integrity over all really.
the seats need recovering or replacing. with the hot californian sun the vinyl has just fallen to bits. can still be used like I've been tootling around in it just fine. the drivers is worse than the passenger. see pics. but you can put any seats you want in really . or just buy replacement manufacturers ones. good thing about these is parts are readily available and pretty cheap .
the pop up roof tent. is torn and needs stitching up or replacing . see pics. again can still be used but I'm certain  it would be drafty and definitely wet should it rain.
thats pretty much all the faults or bits that need doing that I'm aware of. oh theres a little chip on the windscreen but smaller than a fingernail and passed mot with no worries with it.
its an absolute belter of a bus. you could get in it and drive it away no problems and use it and go camping in it right away I'm sure. who ever buys it will most likely want to paint it and do it to showroom level. it wouldn't take much at all. prob a paint job and a bit of fettling. its a good clean honest bus. I'm sure if you're looking at it you already know the value and popularity of these things. and a 1 owner california camper with documented 20k and original books and paper work well its quite a rare thing.
there may be other little chips and knocks here and there. and one of the windows wobbles a bit when you put it down and I'm sure theres stuff like this i dont know about or haven't mentioned. but its an old vw camper . thats 45 year old an all original. anyone who knows there way around a socket set and a screw driver could try this bus up. it just needs some tic.
the paint work isn't great but its white. and does the job like i say. could happily just insure it and drive off and use it. i would. I'm only selling because I've got to go back to usa in october. so i need it gone. hence the 99p no reserve. i have it classified ad listed at 15. 00. someone already bought it at that and gave me a 500 quid deposit but had to back out last minute and told me to keep the deposit as they were genuine and just had bad circumstances he was a sound guy. just couldn't get the rest of the money. nbsp;
so here it is . cash on collection only. needs to be collected within a week of winning. will drive away its tax exempt. ull 12 months mot. and would only need insuring. drives and runs mint (brand new performance engine runs like a dream) i have all log book and keys etc. she's ready to go !!
