NO RESERVE    1954 AUSTIN A40 Countryman Van

1100cc 6 Seater that converts to ½ Tonne Van. good going condition.

A beaut little van in very good mechanical condition. passed a roadworthy 2 years ago and has been stored under cover. Very rare Countryman 6 seat model (I have not yet seen another one for sale or on the road) this is a great van that cruises at 80kmph comfortably and turns heads everywhere it goes.

Purchased in untouched condition 3 years ago I have restored this van to a high quality condition with professional 2 tone re-spray in original colour above and “Dark Tempest” tone below.

Full professional rewire with new headlights installed. new tires muffler etc. lots done

New leather front bench seat installed for comfort. all other seats are original leatherette in very good condition

Wooden internal window surrounds in English oak. original key and “flying A” keychain. plus spare.

New door inserts finished with original 1890's “English Mechanic” pages and 1954 Gippsland Times newspaper featuring the films on in the cinema that year.

All external decals are themed in the 1950's and can all be easily removed from the windows and the body without damage if not wanted.

Lots of extras go with the van. including original vinyl door inserts in average condition. full workshop Manual. original framed 1954 advert for the van and spare paint for touch-ups if needed.

The speedo works but the odometer has not since I have had it and is on 40 000miles (I have done about 2000km since I have had it so have said it has done 70 000km as a guess).

Currently registered on Club Plates (non-transferable so will be sold without Rego or Roadworthy). This van is a quality example as close to original as possible and is in very good usable condition
